Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

im not sure if this is relevant to the conversation but I have an appointment on Tuesday to meet with Chris Nunly ...of Alabama Auto Auctions to discuss the possibility of using their lot as an autox site .The lot is located in Moody so I can only assume that its the same lot .Its been a while since I have seen the lot but from what I remember it is large enough to be usable .

im supposed to meet with him at 12:30 at the site for lunch .If anyone would like to join me I could use the company.

          Saturday Oct 17 7pm-11pm

It is the same lot. I spoke with Chris the other day and said that he had a meeting regarding autox. Its obviously no where near the size of the racetrack lot, it may require a little more effort in course design.

They are going to be open on Saturday. I don't know if it's going to be an exhibition thing or if people can drive up and drift. It might be fun.

I think C and I are going to check out the drifting event on the way back from the NDCC. Too bad we don't have a RWD car to play in...

I read in "another venue" that Moody shut this thing down on the first day due to noise complaints from folks living nearby. Anybody have any info on this?

We were having a ball for about an hour and a half, until it got shut down. Not sure about the actual reason, but Moody is going to discuss it in a city council meeting. The owner said "...worse case scenario, all the drift will be during the day."

As far as the event, 10-15cars showed up to drift with about 100-150 friends and spectators. People showed up from Atlanta and Huntsville. Gary Lang from SPEC clutch was drifting. The course was really fun and you could get decent speed without it being too dangerous. I think that the management had a few more things to figure out, that would only come from holding an event; good ol' trial and error.

Bottom line: It is hilarious fun and no one got hurt!

Well ,I did meet with Chris and did walk the lot and it is in my opinion absolutely useable for autox .The variable is working a mutually beneficial agreement while still maintaining SCCA safety requirements .

Chris is eager for us to come out ,in fact ,he would have liked us to have set up a demo on Saturday but I had to work and we had a NDCCC the same day .There was just not enough lead time (4days)nor manpower to accomplish it .

I plan to call Chris and speak with him further ....He has his work cut out for him since drift has a lot more uncontrollable noise such as tires screaching and rapidly changing exhaust frequencys and direction of travel .We will see .

ok sounds great! at least there is another option finally on the table for us! great work Ricky! C and I were going to stop there on the way back from the NDCC but we were too tired, it was a long day. But for future drift events if they want some people to demo count us IN! I would love to show the younger drivers out there that there is another outlet for speed and driving besides drag racing and drifting.
