I hope not. Especially animated gif files.

hold that for a while ...it has become trivial giving the present situation.Beyond this moment ...does anyone lend reasonable explanations as to y we dont have the ability to post with images in our signatures?

I have no problem with pictures in signatures, I do have a problem with enabling HTML in signatures. (those are two different things) Animated .gifs will slow response for a lot of users with older machines, they add nothing to the forum, and we already have a photography section that you can post things like that in if you feel the need. But that's just me, we can do what ever the powers that be decide.

That being said, each user should have the ability within there "User CP" to disable signatures. So if they have a slow machine or don't want to see an animated .gifs they can turn them off.

You can also turn off auto-loading in most browsers.

Hey, Mike, you can use that as your avatar, if it's small enough.

Small enough for an avatar - there's a limitation that's a bit restrictive, in my book. Lots of folks don't have the software/knowledge to downsize a photo sufficiently to meet the requirement, here (Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 8.5 KB [whichever is smaller].)
