  • Alabama Rep for TT Level 3 and 4

We are looking at forming a committee to oversee the Time Trial Championship Series (Level 3 and 4). We need people interested and devoted to the series to oversee schedule, rules, concerns, and how to grow the series. There is a need for a rep from each region that puts on a Level 3 and 4 event. We are looking at getting the paperwork submitted to present to the RE''s of SEDIV at the Mid-Year meeting for approval of this committee (much like SARRC).
The committee members must be able to be contacted by email or phone and have the ability to come to the Jekyll meetings in January (or a designated replacement).
If you are interested or have questions feel free to email me m.rothermel@hotmail.com
If you need a "offical" request to discuss at your regions meetings let me know.

                Actually since you asked:
The Time Trial Championship Committee will oversee the SEDIV schedule with a voting rep from each region that conducts a Level 3 and 4 in SEDIV. The Time Trial Rules already have the set-up of basic safety for car and driver. The classes in the TTR suggest Road Race and Solo base (out of Street Prepared). The committee can decide on additional classes - say AlanB buys a Metropolitan Nash and is joined by 5 other people who wanted to race their Nash, he could petition the SEDIV TTCS to create a new class (that meets the safety reqs) and start racing in the new class at SEDIV TTCS events. The rules for the class would need to be oked by the TTCS and published on the SEDIV TT site for all to see.
What is different? Well the TTCS is a committee much like the successful SARRC and business is conducted via call/email and finalized for the upcoming season at the Jekyll meetings with each of the reps voting live and in person at Jekyll.
I have written the TTCS rules (they were at TGPR) we hope the RE's will ok them at the Mid-Year.

There were 8 ALSCCA Time trialers at TGPR and only 4 at Nashville. We seem to have a small pool from which to choose.

This is the AL Region's opportunity to have a voice in the shaping and future of the SEDIV Time Trial Program. TT is growing and it has seen some significant changes this year already with more to come.

Politics??? What politics? We have the ability to make the TT program be functional and exciting for all of us. SEDIV and SCCA really do not govern the TT program. That governorship is wide open to this new committee.

Where do you want TT to go?

I'll bring this up at the next board meeting. There might be a couple of TT'ers there.

I do have Jerry Vogel's name on the list as a possible Alabama rep. Youse guys talk bout it and I will be glad to add 'em to the rep list. Their will be one rep from each region who puts on a Level 3 and/or 4 Time Trial event, that would mean Alabama, Buccaneer, Central Carolina, Chattanooga, South Carolina, and TVR will get to resolve issues in the series.
