  • Track Trials Nashville Super Speedway

The Chattanooga Region SCCA will be hosting the 5th annual Track Trials event at Nashville Superspeedway May 16-17, 2009. Cost is $225 if registered before May 4th, $250 after May 4th. As usual, we're trying new things to get more track time & less time sitting in grid for our drivers. We're going to be doing 6 hot laps per session, running the maximum number of cars we can safely run in each pod in an attempt to double the amount of laps each driver can take. We'll also be doing touring laps for the workers each day, and providing food and prizes for the workers as well. To volunteer to work, contact Miles Phillips at milesphillips@thecomfortgroup.com , or with general questions about the event, contact David McDaniel at hoserracing@gmail.com We look forward to seeing you there!

Book your Hotel Room for $50 per night @ Sleep Inn & Suites (http://www.sleepinn.com/hotel-lebano...?promo=gglocal), Lebanon by Friday April 24th to receive this room rate.

Volunteers Needed: Contact Miles Phillips (milesphillips@thecomfortgroup.com)

Just a reminder to everyone, the Nashville Superspeedway Time Trials are May 16-17, 2009, coming up very soon! We're making a few changes based on the smashing success of the Talladega TT School event last weekend, and we wanted to let everyone know. Instead of the 6 hot laps per session format we had originally planned, we're going to switch to 15 minute sessions instead. This will make it much easier to manage time & keep everyone from having to sit too long on grid. We've scheduled 3 practice sessions in the morning, but we have the option to start timed runs sooner if the drivers wish. We are going to do the larger practice sessions to begin with to get a starting reference point for each driver, and we'll make sure to pod all drivers in order from fastest to least fast to try to make sure everyone has as much clear track as possible.
One money saving item for drivers is that we are changing the transponder rental fee from $50 to $40, we were able to pick up the transponders at TGPR and save shipping (~$100+) one way on them, so we're passing that along to the drivers! The second money saving item for the drivers is that our own Jennifer Dobler has managed to wrangle us an amazing rate at the Sleep Inn of $50 per night! You will need to contact the hotel by this Friday to secure that rate,
    Sleep Inn & Suites
    150 S Eastgate Ct

    Phone: 615-449-7005
The rooms include Free High-Speed Internet, Hair Dryer, Coffee Maker In Room, Iron and Ironing Board, Microwave and Refrigerator.

We look forward to seeing everyone out there in the NASCAR pits & up on the banking having fun! For more information, http://www.rivergate5speed.com/scca/...nashville.html

These events in Nashville are fun for a lot of reasons. For volunteers, it's another low-key event similar to the ones at TGPR, with a good chance to learn more about Flagging and Communications before our club race comes up at Barber in September.

Just a reminder, they will have drag races going on Friday night, get into the left lane when you're coming in (we will have an SCCA pointer there, in case they change their minds on what lane, look for the pointer) and have your SCCA membership card ready to show, that way you won't have to pay entry fees to the drag races. We look forward to seeing you there!

For those that are camping, the electric hook-ups at the paddocks are all 50 amp hook-ups, be sure you have an adapter if you want to plug in.

            Thanks,

Thanks to everybody that came out & joined us, we had a great time, our "Iron Man" Joe Clayburn logged in ~85 laps for the weekend! It was a great event, even with the storms we had. Hope to see more of ya'll next time!
