Car will have to pass Tech and have an SCCA TT Logbook. We will have them there ($10) and can issue one. If it already has an SCCA logbook (RR or TT) then all you have to do is pass tech. Helmets have to be SA-00 or SA-05 rated.

NASA TT license are good to race with. If you are not a current SCCA member, we can take care of that with a SCCA Weekend membership.

You can mail your form to the Registrar (me). My address is in the entry forms. You can register at the track but I would really appreciate an email telling me that you are doing that and what car/class you are driving. I have to make up run groups ahead of time.

Would love to see your FD since I have a track prepared 93 RX7.

Well, it looks like I'm not out of the fight yet! Uncle Sam may be treating me well this year. And if he does-I am going to try very hard to make this event and compete!

If you have a NASA Regional Competition License, and you're a SCCA member, it looks like it's accepted.

I found this in the 2009 GCR:

    3.1.5. Regional Events
Regional events shall ordinarily be open to any drivers holding SCCA
Vintage, Regional, and National Competition Licenses and to certain other
drivers holding SCCA Novice Permits as provided in Section 4.4.3.E.,
Racing on a Novice Permit. Regional events shall also be open to Canadian
residents holding current ASN National Licenses who are twenty-one (21)
years of age or older and who are members of SCCA. The Supplementary
Regulations for a Regional event may also provide for the participation of
drivers who are members of SCCA holding Competition Licenses issued
by other SCCA-approved organizations. (See 9.1., Categories and Classes
for classes of cars eligible to compete in Regional events.)
Note: the current organizations whose licenses have been approved by
    SCCA for competition in Regional events are;
BMW CCA Club Racing (Full Competiton), Confederation of Autosport Car
Clubs CACC(Competition), FIA (issued by any sanctioning body), Historic
Sportscar Racing (HSR), ICSCC (Area Conference), IMSA, Midwestern
Council of Sports Car Clubs MCSCC (Full), NASA (Competition License),
Ontario Region CASC (Regional), Porsche Club of America (Full Competition),
SCCA Pro Racing, SVRA, Vintage Motorsports Council (VMC),
Waterford Hills Road Racing Club (Full), West Canada Motorsport Assoc
    (Amateur).
Any questions should be directed to the National Office.

Entry form, Supps and schedule, and Novice TT license application can be downloaded at http://alscca.org/solo1/index.shtml and Safety requirements can be found in the 2009 Time Trials rulebook under Level 3 Track trials which can also be downloaded at the same place.

    TT at TGPR / April 18-19, 2009

I know the economy may look bleak right now but don't let it hold you back from the fun and excitement of the 2009 TVR/ALSCCA Time Trials Championship Event and School sponsored by COOLSHIRT!

The 2009 TVR/ALSCCA Time Trials Championship Event and School sponsored by COOLSHIRT will be held April 18-19, 2009 at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway. Tech and Early Registration check-in will be held Friday, April 17 at the Track starting at 5:00pm.

PDX Drivers! For those of you who have only participated in the SCCA PDX program this is your chance to move into the world of competitive driving. It's just you and your car trying to drive the best line and record the lowest time around the course. All that you will need to win, along with the safety requirements, is skill, speed, nerve and sometimes a bit of luck. Fill out a Time Trial Novice Application and Medical History portion and bring it to the school. Once you've successfully completed the school and get your license you will be able to run in the Level 4 hillclimb events, like Crow Mountain or Wolf Ridge.

Entry form, Supps and schedule, and Novice TT license application can be downloaded at http://alscca.org/solo1/index.shtml and Safety requirements can be found in the 2009 Time Trials rulebook under Level 3 Track trials which can also be downloaded at the same place.

What's in it for the novice drivers?
Attendance to the school usually averages around 10-12 students. This is an annual co-sponsored event by Alabama and Tennessee Valley Regions of the SCCA that provides the needed learning environment to help achieve the goal of a full time trial license. Teaching the novice drivers track etiquette, situational awareness, flags, the proper line, and vehicle dynamics and control each student is paired with an experienced TT driver who mentors the students providing them with useful feedback between runs.

We need volunteers! If you can't make the event to compete, come to work and support your fellow racers. Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch? We offer free lunches to workers both days as well as a social Saturday evening! The hosting clubs TVR and ALSCCA even offer a free autocross or RallyCross admission to any regular season event for each day you work. That's huge!

    Come join us!

    Thanks everybody!
