  • Registaring for TT

    Hey guys,
I've been to a couple of track days but I wanna start getting into scca time trials. I was wondering what all, or any (links or info) regarding what all I will have to have in preparation for the TT school in april. I have on 05 s2000 and have been noticeing alot of talk regarding the factory roll protectoin for this vehilce. I was wondering if my vehilce would be ok for the school in stock form?

Unfortunately your factory rollover protection is not acceptable for Level 3 (Track Trials) or Level 4 (HillClimbs) events which are what we run at TGPR, Nashville and Crow Mtn. For more info on rollbar requirements take a look at page 52 of the TimeTrials rules: http://www.sccattse.org/images/Track_Trial_Rules.pdf.

Mark at Kirk Racing up in Mt. Olive (http://www.kirkracing.com) is the way to go for a rollbar, especially since he's local.

thanks for the info...i was afraid of the scca rules for role protection. It passes nasa rules in stock form, but i had a feeling i wouldn't be so luck for scca. I have never been a big fan of roll bar, or cage, in a daily driver, but if it must be done. Once again thanks for the help

I believe that I can honestly say that nobody on this forum approves of NASA safety rules. Cause they aren't all that great.

The comp bar from Kirk is $405 dollars. I may be ordering one for my car in a few weeks.

Sometimes it's not good to put words in other people's mouths, especially when you make such an all-encompassing statement. Lots of folks here run with multiple clubs.

NASA's TT safety rules align closely with SCCA's Level 2 events, Club Trials. Their HPDE rules are similar to PDX, and their race rules require a certified head restraint system, which SCCA does not. No rule set is perfect. Some are just different.
