Yes, we met Sunday. The lowest prep level Time Trial class is for SP autocross cars, which is where you are anyway. Street or ST cars can participate, providing they meet the following requirements, but would run as SP.
Basically, you need a fully TT legal car in order to do the school plus the necessary driver safety equipment. From the 2014 TT rules (you can find all the TT rules & info at www.sedivtt.com):
REQUIRED DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Owing to the competitive nature of these
events, driver's personal safety gear is required. Driving suits carrying FIA standards (8856-1986 or 8856-2000) or SFI 3-2A/5 or higher (e.g., /10, /15, /20) certification. Suits carrying SFI 3-2A/1 certification may be worn only with fire resistant underwear. Crash helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000), SFI standards 31.1A, 31.2A, or FIA standards shall be used. The use of a head and neck support system is highly recommended. Gloves made of leather and/or accepted fire resistant material containing no holes. Socks made of accepted fire resistant material. Face coverings (balaclavas) of accepted fire resistant material for drivers with beards or mustaches. Shoes, with uppers of leather and/or nonflammable material that at a minimum cover the instep. Window safety nets or arm restraints are required. Arm restraints are required on all open cars. Closed cockpit cars may use either arm restraints or a driver’s side window net.MINIMUM VEHICLE SAFETY EQUIPMENT: All vehicles must have the following safety equipment at a minimum: driver restraints, roll bar or cage, fire extinguisher.
Note these are the minimum safety requirements. While this covers an SP car there are other requirements that are class-specific.
A TT car needs an annual inspection and a vehicle logbook. Both can be done at the track but, since you are in Huntsville it would be much better to contact Craig Farr and get it done ahead of time.
Other than the helmet, the above mentioned safety equipment would not be required in the PDX. You do not need a roll bar/cage in a closed cockpit car at the PDX level. If you have never driven on track the PDX is likely a better place to start than the TT school. PDX cars also do not need the logbook or as strict an inspection as the TT cars.Rod H

Sadly, due to an engine failure, I will have to withdraw from this event. There's always next year...

Welcome to our Annual Track Trials, TT School and PDX held at the Talladega Gran Prix Raceway in Munford Alabama. Weather is supposed to be clear and pushing 80 both days.
Racers can get into the track starting at 3pm this Friday. A few of us workers will be there at 2pm to start setting up.
For the TT Students and PDX drivers, we are holding an Overview at 7pm as well as the mandatory classroom session on Saturday morning at 8am. TT and PDX Instructors need to attend these sessions as well.
Tech - It would be real helpful if the Tech folks can be there in order to have Tech operational at 3pm on Friday. We have a number of TT Logbooks to issue and the usual TT Annual Techs to perform.
Workers meeting at 0715 Sat morn. Drivers meeting at 0715 Sat morn.
We have maximized the track time for all drivers this weekend. You could get 75 minutes on Saturday and 80-100 on Sunday. Sunday afternoon as drivers depart, we combine into 3 groups (Closed, Open and PDX) and run them. The usual disclaimer is that if you have to be pulled out of the boonies, it affects everyone's track time. Keep on the tarmac.
Workers will be getting track time at the end of each day. We will need the TT and PDX drivers to man the corners during these sessions so support your workers. I have to say how much we value the workers who have given their weekend so that you can drive. Without them, there would not be this event.
Camping is allowed at TGPR. Trailers and race cars can be left overnight.

my son Matthew is signed up to do F&C Sunday. He has never flagged a car event . He has flagged cart events. He will need to be paired with an experienced worker so that he can be brought up to speed on the extra flags that TT uses over a carting event .Ricky R
