Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • 2013 TT Schedule

The 2013 TT Schedule carries some significant improvements (Road Atlanta and Barber) and losses (Roebling, Crow Mtn, CMP). Let me outline the Schedule here for you all.

April 13-14 - Our annual TT, TT School and PDX at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway.

May 18-19 - Road Atlanta TT/PDX - rather than the one day event that has been held in the past, this year will have 3 TT run groups with 3 sessions on Saturday and 3 TT groups with 2 sessions on Sunday.

June 22-23 - Chasing the Dragon IV

    August 3-4 - Chasing the Dragon V

August 31-Sept 1 - Barber Motorsports Park TT - This may be a first in that TT is combining with a Double SARRC. TT will be 3 groups each day and 3 15 minute sessions each on both days. The responses we got indicated that most of you wanted to run at Barber.

September 28 & 29 - TGPR TT/PDX - This will be a double points event with results for each day. Consider it a shootout for the TT Championships.

2013 will have 7 Championship points events, so 4 events are necessary to qualify for the Championships.

Buccaneer Region has decided not to do Roebling this year even though a double points event was offered to them. The reason is not too difficult to understand. The last 3 times they have run the event the entry numbers have been 19/20/25. Each of them well below the year's averages and low enough so that they lost money on the event. South Carolina Region decided to cancel doing CMP due to low entries.

We lost Crow Mtn because Jackson County denied us permission to use the road. We also had concerns with the road deterioration which Jackson County was unwilling to address. Even so, the entry levels for Crow Mtn were 27 each of the last 3 years. Even with sponsorship money, TVR lost money on the event.

If any drivers are unhappy with the schedule, we have only ourselves to look at. If we do not attend the events, they will eventually cease to exist. Region BODs have a fiduciary responsibility to not bankrupt their Regions. They cannot going to keep doing events that are losing money year after year. Over the last 4 years, 78% of the drivers who entered TT events only ran 1 or 2 events. The percentages of drivers who ran enough events to qualify for the Championships was 17%. Entry fees may have to rise to compensate for the low entries.

In case anyone has not already heard, George Bugg served as the TT Administrator for the last 3 years. Ted Theodore has taken the responsibility on. So thatnk George when you see him for all the hard work he has put into TT and offer to help Ted as he goes forward.

In these economic times, I certainly understand that we all have financial limitations. So I can only ask that you do what you can. Bring a friend to work a corner (saves us from having to hire workers). Take advantage of the Second Gear Program and invite a friend to co-drive your car. Reach out to co-workers, colleges, other car clubs. Offer to help your Region do the many things it takes to administer an event
