That's the way it is in TT. Does an instructor get in the car for the Comp School? Part of this, I think, comes from the inability to put a instructor in a formula car. I have seen people not come away with a license too.

So, let me get this straight. You can get your TT license without ever having an instructor in the car with you? That is not only one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, it's dangerous.

No in-car instructors for Track Trials, but good advice for a PDX.Originally posted by Jedi1 View Postpassenger also needs a seat and belts.

If you want an instructor in the car with you, and you will, don't forget the passenger also needs a seat and belts.

Shoes, socks, gloves,SA hat,arm restraints or window netting, balaclava if facial hair-good idea anyway, and you can bet on gas going back up. To get your logbook Rich Crowell will go over your car with a very fine tooth comb, make sure your car is in good mechanical shape.Originally posted by 87RX7RACER View PostDitto!!!
And Chuck, my car gets pretty bad gas mileage at WOT, but not that horrible! Gas is cheap now adays. So here is my list of stuff I have to get...if anyone can think of anything else, please chim in.
-Either roll bar or ITS cage (probably latter)
-FIA approved one piece racing seat.
-Set of belts for the seat.
-Some type of fire supression system.
-Transponder.
What about the kill switch? Is that necessary? Is there anything else that I need?

Suggestion: get the hard wired variety and wire it directly to your kill switch. That way, when the car is on, the transponder is on. No batterys/charger/charging to worry about. CB

Looks like $380 or $420 plus mounting bracket.

The AMB transponders we will rent from SCCA are all the old style. The clips that we have been providing for the past few years will fit them. I still have some of the clips if you need one.

Same here. I just hope I can get my cage and safety stuff done by then. How much do those transponders cost anyways?
