Thanks John ,
The lack of a absolute requirement for me to get a full physical is a good thing at this point .Things are really hectic right now with my job and the fact that I have no helmet, shoes, gloves ,and my headlights are ducttaped in ,I got enough to contend with for now .

Sorry to jump in on someone elses post and this might be bleeding obvious to everyone else, - but figured now would be a better time to get this straight instead of after arriving to an event \:Originally posted by JohnW8 View PostI believe you can run as a apply for a Novice license then get signed off by the Divisional Steward (Steve Tompkins) or Chief Instructor after successfully completing the school, then reapply for a license upgrade. If it's done within 90 days you don't have to pay another licensing fee. Apply for your TT Novice license in early March. That'll give you plenty of time.
First, on the Novice license, are you talking about the $110 Novice Permit, or the $35 Novice Time Trial License? (or is the Novice Permit only for Club Racing)
So,
a. you must submit a Novice Permit/License application and $35 (or $110) before the TT school
b. then register for the TT school and TT event (plust the entry fee for both)
c. then, if you pass, you can upgrade your Novice Permit to a full Time Trial License and not have to pay the additional $35, right?
I don't know why I though the Novice Permit/License was included as part of the TT school fee. Not that I'm complaining, just want to make sure I do the right thing at the right time.

The $110 Novice permit is for Road Race. Stay away from that one.Originally posted by X-RAT View PostFirst, on the Novice license, are you talking about the $110 Novice Permit, or the $35 Novice Time Trial License? (or is the Novice Permit only for Club Racing)

To get your TT license, you will have to pay SCCA the $35 one way or the other. We have had people do the school and then do the TT license application after they were signed off (Thus the 35 was paid after the school.). You can also do the TT Novice permit before the school.
THe difference is when you do your medical.
There is only one fee for the TT School and Event. If you are just running the event and not doing the school, there is one fee. We average 10-12 students at a school.Craig Farr
