  • Looking for a ride...

Well, here is another year and my RX7 is still not quite ready for time trials. Basically I need a roll bar and a few other things in order to be good and it's not going to happen before the event. But I still want to go ahead and get my TT license, but I need a car to do it in! So if anyone cares to offer up a legal TT car to run the event in so I could get my license, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Talk to Ted Theodore - editor@thesoutherndriver.com
He has an IT7 car that he's renting for this kind of thing.

What's been the holdup on getting your car ready? I agree with George, contact Ted Theodore. I gotta ask, why the need to get your TT license? Are you planning on doing the Road Atlanta, AMP or hillclimb events?

Well, really the only thing that is holding me up taking the RX7 now is a roll bar, fluid changes, and some tuning. It's just that it's my third year trying to go and once again I'm failing to be there in the 7. I also wanted to go ahead and get my license now because I have plans in the future (next year) for wheel to wheel stuff and I didn't want not having a TT license hold me up from doing that.

Plus, it's really what I built the RX7 for and I hate just seeing it sit there and not do anything except for the occassional autox event...

And I would like to do at least one of the other events you mentioned, John.

You don't need a TT license to go road racing. It's not a requirement at all.

I know, but there aren't a whole lot of opportunities for schooling in the Southeast region either and it would give me a head start on the other...

Looks like my insurance company is screwing me over so I may not be able to do anything this year...

If you are talking about an insurance company for public roads, they are not going to cover you on the track anyways. There are race specific insurance companies though. Quit making excuses and get your skinny behind out there.

I think he means homeowner's. I recall him saying something about the roof to his old house in Tuscaloosa or something.
