  • can't find it anywhere

Okay, I can't find it anywhere, but I know we've talked about it. When is the TT school happening this year?

Are we going to do another 'ANNUAL TECH INSPECTION' at Element Garage again?

    Looks like April 14-15, 2012 - http://www.sedivtt.com/

although the the SEDiv calendar http://sedivracing.org/2012_Schedule.pdf shows it two weeks earlier, conflicting with Grand AM weekend at Barber (oh, IndyCar will be there, too.)

Something needs to be corrected, eh?

Yikes, looking closer, mid-April was supposed to be the Rational at Nashville. What a can of worms.

I'm glad I'm not involved with scheduling, any more.

The TT date for the TGPR Event and TTT School is April 14-15.
The Nashville Rational isn't going to happen this year due to having no place to race.

I'm sure there will be another Annual inspection session at some point. Those details haven't been worked out yet.

Preliminary schedules are worked out 1/2 year before at the Mid Year meetings in Atlanta and hopefully settled at the Year End meetings at Jekyll. They are PRELIMINARY for a reason Grand Am/NASCAR/IRL/Petit LeMans do not care about what we do and usually do not have their schedule ready until the end of the year. Throw in the fact that all regions try to keep traditional dates then smaller events get the leftovers and with trying to stay 2 weeks or more for other SARRC road races or try and miss when an SCCA National Tour pops up or some other event that can take away entrants and/or workers it is basically a game of darts you throw something at the schedule at the middle of the year and hope it isn't run over between other events and it's too cold this time of year - it's too hot this time of year - I'm going to Austin - it's my birthday and the multitude of other problems.
The SEDIV schedule is not updated every week but we have removed HoD mid April from the schedule due to the closing of NSS and added the TT at TGPR. If you have a problem with that get with your regions leadership and let them know.

I've done an inspection by Richard Crowell at my house for several years, except last year. Although I don't need the annual, I can host it again if necessary. Decision will need to be made around mid Jan. Chuck

I guess I was just a bit antsy, or either someone saw my post and put up the schedule. Schedule works for me, it already gets me out of one wedding!!!! I was just looking for how quickly all my attention needs to get towards the BMW.

As for the annual, Edwin has already said yes to having the annual at Element Garage again. I was just wondering if there had been some dates thrown around yet?

              Thanks.

I just noticed that there were some changes that hadn't been picked up on the SEDiv schedule, which was apparently most recently updated November 13th. I'd hate to see anyone make plans based on bad information.

I'll repeat another point - I'm glad I don't have to get involved with scheduling. There are too many moving parts for me to keep up with.

On the plus side, I noticed, today, that ALMS actually scheduled the Petit for 2012 on a weekend that doesn't conflict with Crow Mountain.

Well I for one would like to thank ALMS for listening to us - we had to get rough with them but they broke down finally. Maybe we can get them to pay 100K to repave the bad section at Crow since the county won't.

I think besides the rule book the scheduling is a major PITA. As Mark said there's always something that can get in the way of dates. In a way that's good, because that means there's always something going on where we can goof off with cars, but on the other hand scheduling so many events with a relatively small pool of workers and participants makes it challenging to an event chair to find the right date. There are only 52 weekends in a year and only about a 3rd of those are good for what we do. And everyone knows it.

I don't think I have ever seen a schedule that was complete until after the season began.
I may be wrong but I don't recall being able to set up my season based on a schedule.
I can get close but I can't schedule months ahead of time. I'm so used to a schedule
being tentative I include it on my schedule of events to attend.

Rest assured the TGPR event will be on April 14th-15th.

                    Tentatively.
