Ok so far I have decided to run SM.....glass sunroof gone,check....kirk bar installed,check,....FIA seat and 6 point harness for driver,on its way...what other things besides fire extinguisher and tow hooks does the car lack to pass a tech inspection and get a log book?I am trying to get the car ready to take to crow this weekend in hopes I can talk Richard Crowell into logbooking the car there so Im that much ahead of the game for the school in April.Andy?Pat? I know you guys run SM so is there anything you can think of that i have missed?

RR - make sure if the bar is close to your head that it has some padding (high density). Do you have a window net or arm restraints? The fireproof race suit must have the SFI patch on it - if you have a single layer you must have nomex undies. Since you have facial hair you must have a balacava (spelling?) at least leather gloves and shoes that have no air holes and are at least leather. I actually have a few items if you need to borrow. I am assuming you are not running Crow just getting ready for the school in April?

      Ricky,

Sounds like you're well on your way. The main thing Rich will be looking for is safety. Like Mark said, make certain you've got padding (SFI and not the plumbing stuff) wherever your head can hit the rollbar. The seat and the harness need secure mounting (use grade-8) and use backing plates. Your FIA seat doesn't require a back brace so spend extra time making certain it's well-mounted. A metal-strap extinquisher secured with 2 pipe clamps to the harness bar is adequate, but you can get a 2-port foam system for ~$250 which might be cheap money if you ever need it. I've got a spare set of arm-restraints you can borrow if you haven't decided yet between restaints vs. window net. I'll have them with me at Crow anyway.

Unless I'm mistaken, you won't need to present your driver safety equipment for a vehicle logbook, so you can save that budget for later. The good thing about your plan is that if Rich finds something he doesn't like, you've got plenty of time to fix it before the TGPR school.

Looking forward to seeing you run in TT!

Yes I am only working crow .I had not given thought to the net/arm restraints but I think I m inclined to go with arm restraints .One question about harness mounting though.

Does the shoulder harnesses have to be bolted or can they be attached to the roll bar with the webbing locks and float?

The tow hooks I have in mind are just cable loops ...one front and one rear .I didnt get the seat mounted yet and may not have it mounted in time for crow .Hopefully I can steal some time tonight and fab the mounts up,if not ,at least I can just get him to look over what is done and make sure that is sufficient .

The shoulder harnesses can be either bolted or wrapped if you have a harness bar.

Ive looked in every spot I can think of on the SCCA site and at solotime for decals and cant seem to locate them .I need the arrow stickers that indicate the tow points and a cutoff switch decal.

Isnt there a required sticker indicating fire extinguisher location?Anybody know where i can find these? They used to be in the SCCA merchandise section but I was unable to locate them there .
