Great news!

Just sent this to Greg and thought I'd let all y'all know... I got the word from the church (Gardendale First Baptist) and we have all six dates approved! There are a few caveats that I figured you could work around, as noted below:

March 28: there is a 4pm wedding, so the parking lot would need to be cleared by 3pm
April 4: 6pm wedding, so lot must be cleared by 5pm
April 11: We have a 6pm Easter Service and folks show up really early, so the lot must be cleared by 4pm (and of course, y'all are more than welcome to stick around for the service!)
April 25, May 2, & May 30: no conflicts at this time.

I plan to be there for the 3/28, 4/4, & 4/25 classes, just to make sure everything goes smoothly and is ready for Sunday morning, and to help out where I can.

Whew!! I'm glad this worked out. I don't think it will be a long term solution (we can cross that bridge a little later), but at least it gets you through the Spring.

Thanks soooo much Rod.I worked a few of the clinics we did at Gardendale and the lot is absolutely perfect for the NDCCC and the classroom space is also .I am very happy we are doing clinics there again.

Yeah, that's it. If you are coming on I-65, exit at Fieldstown Rd, exit 271. Turn east onto Fieldstown (that's right if you are coming from the south). You can then turn right at either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th lights and end up at the church, but the simplest way may be to go to the 4th (Main St). This will put you in front of the church so it will be easier for you to know where you are. We will be in the Family Life Center, using the side door closest to the Gardendale High School construction. I am going to ask the church to chain off the entrances to the lot we will be using, so hopefully set up will be a little easier.

BTW, if you turn right from Fieldstown @ the second light, you will end up between the church & the high school. If you turn @ the 3rd, you will be on Grubbs Avenue which runs behind the church to the high school. There are lots of food choices on Fieldstown between the church & I65, and a few more across from Walmart.

There are already chains on all of the poles, we'll just have to span them to the other poles.

The chains tend to come & go, especially with the high school construction across the street. A few months ago someone thought it would be cool to pull one of the poles out of the ground with their truck. I'll talk to the church today.

Confirmed that the chains will be there and have made arrangements to get keys for their locks so we can put them back up for the clinic. BTW, in making the call I found out something that I'm sure caused some of the ill will from the last time the church was used: after one clinic the chains were left up, resulting in someone having to get to the church extra early Sunday morning and take the chains down in the rain. We'll make sure this doesn't happen this time.

I think that was the first clinic we did. Because after that, I remember distinctly putting the chains down and how difficult a few of them were. But we will do better this time.
