  • Parent feedback from 10/22/11 TDC

Thanks to all the workers for making the Oct 22nd 2011 clinic a success! From cars left in the way from the night before, to the clean up crews ignoring our cones, to high school kids trying to decorate for a homecoming dance, yesterday had more than it's share of challenges. Once again y'all performed like champs and pull the clinic off without a hitch.

I have already heard from one of the parents. Lois & Lena Barrett were in the green Town & Country minivan.

    "Rod,

Thank you so much for the clinic yesterday. I thought it was very good and I think Lena is definitely more prepared and confident on the road. Please send me the schedule when it comes out in February. I really hope I can get my oldest driving and that he can come in the spring. Also, I have two more coming up behind Lena that I want to participate in the clinic when they get old enough. Thank you again.

    Lois Barrett"

Lois had a lot of fun it seemed. I think she just wants to come back to ride along some more.

Here is a note I received this morning from Spencer McChesney's mom. I think Spencer was driving one of the full-size trucks.

      "Dear Mr. Hardiman,

I would like to take this time to let you know that my son and husband thought the clinic on Saturday was awesome!!! As you stated in this email below that the parents will learn just as much as the student and my husband could not stop talking about how organized it was, the course, etc.

Can you please give me the website that will give the information about the student driving clinic? I would like to pass it along to someone who is interested in the clinic. She has a daughter who is 15 and hopefully if you are going to have another clinic anytime soon she would like to have her attend.

Thanks again for the time you and your staff give to young student drivers, which we know that it does not hurt to learn as much as possible with the way people drive today.

      Sincerely,
      Sharon McChesney"

By the way, thanks also to all the workers who got Reid Stewart plugged in and let him ride along during your test drives. His mom said he had a blast working the clinic.

Spencer was in the redish F150. His dad is a teacher of some sort.. He kept telling me about how he would have graded me if I was being assessed.

          Nice guy.

And hopefully Lena's older brother can make it out, after talking with them for a bit about him I'd love to see him get behind the wheel.

All things considered (lower worker turnout than usual) I think we did a fantastic job. Props to the flag guys at the end of the braking exercises. You guys put on the heat and that makes me happy.

Good work to everyone and I can't wait for next season!

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Here is another note...this time from Jarek Olszak whose daughter Callie was tossing the Suburban around like a sports car
            "Good Morning Rod,

Thank you so much for your time and the time of all the volunteers to put together the Teen Driving clinic last Saturday. It was a great experience, all the volunteers did great job, encouraging and building confidence for the teens.

I was very pleased and somehow surprised to see my daughter Callie handle the big “pirate’s ship” suburban as well as she did and the confidence that she gained in handling the car. I could tell big difference in the way she drove on the streets after the course.

This is a great program, allowing teens to experience situations that otherwise they would not be able to experience. As a father, I will feel better when she is ready to leave the driveway in the car by herself for the first time.

Thank you all again for all you do.

            Regards,
            Jarek Olszak"
