  • 2011 Spring Update

Now that the Solo schedule is finalized I have been able to settle on some potential Saturdays for our TDCs this spring. Locations are unknown at this point, but we are investigating several alternatives such as the cities of Hoover, Vestavia, & Birmingham as well as continued use of my church. Charlie Wagner has come on board this year and has been a great asset in both site acquisition as well as volunteer recruitment. There are a few other things floating around that may lead to expansion of the program, so stay tuned.

Since the clinics cannot go on without experienced volunteers, this post is mainly to get you thinking about your availability on the following dates. Spring scheduling is going to be a challenge but I have avoided direct conflicts with ALSCCA events as a priority and other logical events as possible.

Given that, my preferred 2011 spring dates are: March 12, April 16, April 23, & May 28.

Alternate dates are April 30 and May 21, both of which conflict with TVR events.

If you can commit to working any of these dates, please go ahead and let me know & I will pencil you in. Rest assured I will be back looking for volunteers when the dates are final.

Thank you for your continued support!

Rod, have you talked to Mark and John about maybe having the TDC's at the new ax location in Pelham?

Not specifically Wally, but we are all working together on sites. The need for a "classroom" and controlling costs are the primary concerns for a TDC site.

Hey, Rod is there anything I can give our principal about these clinics to help encourage the students to sign up. I will help as much as I can, but it is track season. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the offer John. Attached is a FAQ document that may help. I will post a schedule and registration information once we have locations nailed down.
