  • Nov. 7 2009 NDCCC - Last Chance this season!

Our final New Driver Car Control Clinic for 2009 will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at Gardendale's First Baptist Church. This is your chance to get in on the amazing work that this program does.

I can tout the benefits all day, but why take my word for it? Go to the "Praise from Parents" thread in this section and read the many positive comments. Once you do, I'm sure you'll want to sign up for this final clinic of the year. We have a full class and we need YOUR help.

Please post your intention to work.

    Thanks,

    Greg

I'm in but have to leave about 3:00 pm to pick up my Better Half (and racing sponsor), Shirley.

I'm guessing Rod will be doin' the reprising! :-) He's good, you know.

Unfortunately, I can't be there for this one. My boy is having his 5th birthday party. Big trouble if I'm not there.

Greg, folks, I'm sorry I will not be able to help. We've had a death in the family and I will be in Indiana late this week and week end. I really hate to miss this opportunity to give back to the community but can't be helped.

Sign me up for next year.

Looks like Matt may have a conflict as well. That leaves us with:

                    Rod
                    Cholewa
                    Sara
                    me

We could really use one other experienced person or a couple of newbies. Please consider helping out.

We have a very full clinic this Saturday. Any help would be appreciated.

If I weren't already committed to standing in a corner, that day, I'd jump in. I wish I could do both, somehow.

If you haven't done one of these, before, don't be afraid. It's a lot of fun, you get to be a rock star/race car driver for a group of impressionable young folks and their parents, you're helping the club both financially and from a public relations standpoint, and you could save a life!

Besides, maybe Michael's getting tired of doing this demonstration - http://www.flickr.com/photos/k4cay/2...7605203889817/ - or not.

Folks, we really need to make a good showing on Saturday. For almost a year now, I've been watching NBC - 13 do a series of reports on teen driving. I saw one again last night that talked about some survey, and showed a Driver's Ed classroom and some really pathetic instruction (I think they were practicing the dangerous art of parking).

At any rate, I got off my butt and finally sent a notice/invitation to Rod Carter ( lead reporter in the series) to come check out what ALSCCA is doing to help save these kids lives. I got a reply this morning that it is on the weekend planner.

I would love to have an adequately staffed clinic to show what we do. Please consider helping out your club, these kids, and perhaps.... yourself.

                            We really need YOU.

Unrelated note...I just sent an email to our driver's ed teacher inviting him to both the NDCCC and our next autocross. He is really interested in checking out the autocross since three of his students race in them, Zac & the McCool girls. Hopefully he'll show.

I was going to draft Zac to help Saturday but the coach has called a basketball work day. I can try to get some of the NDCCC "alumni" to come out if we can use their help. I thought they may be able to chase cones leaving the few adult workers to free to do the other jobs. What do you think?

On the TV angle, having a coupla teens who have already completed the class may be good interview material
