Very fun day. Silly hot. John and Darryl were kind of close.. no? lol nice.
This weekend was no good for me. The car was obviously faster as Sam demonstrated, but I just couldn't put it together. Still had fun though! Good times in the parking lot.Heath Patterson

For now, I need to tweak my technique, alignment, and suspension settings to optimize what I have. Other than needing seat time, I am out of room to add more static camber and I am too high in the air. I need to get lower. My springs rates would like a 12"F and 12.5"R fender height, but I am 1.25" taller than that. Koni perches to replace my ebay units ought to get me there. I am also adding relatively stiff helper springs to aid driver confidence over rougher sections. More sprung droop = smoother landings from adventures into the jurisdiction of the FAA.
Furthermore, I am strongly inclined to finish the engine swap for which I have collected parts and information. It will likely put me in XP, but how many people are in a position to do an engine swap?Tanner Powell

Actually I do think the 205/15's RE-71R's would be faster than the 225 RS3v2, but I've heard the Rival S is "as good as the RE-71R" and it is available in a 225/15, so that might be the better option.
If you go XP, you can run real Hoosier's or at least some Hankook Z214's!!
I don't consider myself an expert on suspension, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express many times...and happy to share my thoughts/experience with you if you want. Good suspension and good tires will get the most out of your car, regardless of engine/power/class, so definitely recommend starting there.Last edited by MX5_Racer; 07-15-2015, 10:52 PM.Andrew Reynolds

Tanner,
You've got 9" wide wheels, right? If so the recent Grassroots Motorsports test showed the BFG Rival S in 225/45-15 on a 9" wheel to be essentially equal to the RE71R in 205/50-15 on a narrower rim (don't remember if it was 7.5" or 8").
What engine are you planning to put in it?Rod H
