Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

DNF = Did not FEAR the cones!

Looking forward to 11/23. Can we make all the elements 'optional'?

I'd trade keys with you, but we'd have to see if you could reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel. On top of that I haven't seen your control tested well enough to take the risk. Sean's driven it. By the way Sean, I went from a 4.25 FD to a 4.7. You'd hop out of it doing cartwheels now. I was able to keep up with Steve at TGPR until I started starving out of 3, I can't say I was caching him, but I was staying with him.

Did anyone notice that the guy that won CSP came in first in raw AND pax?

Honestly if there is anyone that you know Evan that wants to trade a Civic setup clsoe to yours for my Merc it's a done deal. I love your car! So much fun to drive.

I know a guy in trussville that has several big-motor civics around. You'd pobably have to fix the suspension but I can make a, or give you his number if you want.

I wouldn't trade the merc for a car worth 2grand, but if someone has a track ready Civic out there that is in your opinion a decent car, we could definitely talk. I think you need some competition, lol.

I need to use the last event as a test on my new rear end gearing... so something with the fastest we would run, with some low speed areas would be really good..

Went from a 3.2 7.5" rear end in the mustang to the Mustang GT 8.8" rear with 4.10 gears. Gonna be a big change....

and if its too much, I have a 3.73 ring and pinion sitting on the work bench. Gotta test to find out.

Thanks if we can make it happen.... Sean

Micheal, there is no problem with moving up in class even if your car classes lower officially IIRC.

HS can run SS if they want to .Its just not allowed to move down in class .For instance my car can run any class above GS but not HS

Actually, you cannot make a lateral class move (one stock class to another stock, even if it is a faster stock class). But you could bump to a higher prepped group that allows more mods (street prepared, prepared, mod, etc) as long as your specific car meets the rules and fall in the correct class in that prep group. I won the SE Division championship for FP in a legal CSP class, because my car was legal for both classes and it was the proper class for each prep group. Some Street prepared cars (or even stock cars) can run their respective ST class with the proper wheel/tire change (no R compounds).

Ricky was probably thinking about class bumping, which is allowed when there is only one car in a class. This is per SCCA rulebook....

                          APPENDIX B - BUMPING ORDER
“Bumping” is not approved for championship events. However, the
following bumping order is recommended for regional events in cases
where a class is to be combined with another class.
The progression of the ladies bumping order shall be: if there is only one
competitor in a Ladies’ Class, that competitor shall move to the parallel
Open Class. If a class is still not formed, the competitor should then be
bumped into the next appropriate Ladies’ Class (see diagram). If a class
has still not been formed, the competitor should again be bumped to the
appropriate Open Class. This movement would continue until a class is
                          formed.
Example: HSL bump to HS, then to ESL, then to ES, then to DSL, etc. Also,
Ladies’ Class entrants should be bumped first to create a class. Example:
If there is only one entrant in each of the three classes CS, DS and DSL,
the entrant in DSL would be bumped into DS first to form a DS class and
the CS entrant would then be bumped upward into BS (i.e., it would not be
correct to bump the DS entrant into CS before considering the DSL entrant).
Proceed left to right following the arrows, until a class is formed. Where
two bumping paths come together, including Ladies to-open bumps, all
bumps up to the joining point should be done before continuing along the
                          bump path.
                          STOCK CATEGORY

There should be 2 more HS drivers for the next event, so class will be larger...

I stand corrected. Thanks Clay.I didnt realize that you couldnt move up to a higher stock class. On the other hand,I dont think GS competitors would mind thrashing Mr Cholewa, but,if he were to beat one of them then they might cry foul...but most wouldnt since they just got thrashed by a HS car in GS.Been there done that .Sean Yoder, yourself and Chris Warren have all run faster times than me in HS cars before.
