    As of Points #8 ...

Finally got the issues with posting and the mixed up membership files taken care of.

Please review the current points standings and POST HERE if there is a discrepancy. We will review the results and make changes if necessary. Thanks.

NOTE:: You'll find that some entries are missing information, such as the vehicle driven. this is because I had to merge the results data by hand and didn't have that data on hand when completing the task. It shouldn't affect the results and may even fix itself when you drive another event.

Just to remind folks of the Championship rules. You must be an SCCA member for your points to count towards a year end trophy. In order to be the champion of a given class you MUST compete in 50% +1 (6 events) in that class. Get you SCCA membership today and keep your points for the Championship!

Exactly. These results do not reflect membership status. Upon season completion, membership lists will be reviewed and the non-members truncated from the results when trophies are considered.

If you ran (or will have run at seasons end)50%+1 of the events in 1 given class in 2010...then yes you can join ALSCCA and keep your points considered for the championship.

Don't you also need at least one competitor in a class to run 50%+1 events for that class to qualify for a trophy?

                ?

Ive never seen that rule for year end . Not your fault if no one else ran your class all year .

I sure thought it is in the rules for this season. Time to dig up the season-starting post

well then no reason for me to renew this year seeing as over half the events are over and I can't catch up.

here it is... in section 15 of the 2010 solo season supps:

                      c) In order for a class to have a champion there must be a minimum of 2 drivers completing the minimum number of events to be eligible for a championship in that class.

I dont decide what the criteria is in_ your_ decision making process but judging by your last couple posts ...you are absolutely right.

I guess I didnt know about that supp but I guess if it is in print that is the way it is . I cant say I agree.

If it were an undividual event...I could see the context and justify it but a guy that runs his class all year and does the 50+1 minimum or more then I see no reason to penalize him or her by denying them a year end championship based on lack of class participation.

I am not protesting the supps . I am saying this particular requirement needs some extra consideration for next year .

With our turnouts for the last couple of years, I can't say I agree with that rule either. We'd basically end up with trophies for N, ST, SM, BSP and CSP and nothing else. Sounds like a boring awards ceremony and some drivers feeling unrecognized ...
