  • SSSS Promotion thread?

    Hey guys,

Over on the Atl solo board John and Revhappy mentioned the SSSS and made it sound like a total blast! I wanted more details about the event so i came over here to the ALSCCA board but i really can't find anything??

Am i missing the thread? Is there a website? Who is in charge of this thing?

You caught us right smack in the middle of a website change. Usually we are covered up with smack talk, dares, double dares and even a few double dog dares to get folks fired up but our forum and website are being revised and alot of folks are playing it close to the vest.
I'm glad you decided to do the Atlanta Night Solo and then come to Bham for the shootout, I'm sure it won't disappoint. The courses of years past are in the 90-120 second range, combined with the heat and the long day, your concentration and car handling skills will be challenged. Remember to breathe, it's a long course. If you are fortunate enough to place in the top 8 PAX, you get moved into the shootout where you get a run to try to improve your previous best time or at least not hurt it. Then comes the next round where you do it again. Each round drops those who improve the least or fail the most. 8 driver drops to 4 driver then to 2 driver who compete for the Shoot Out Champeenship.

It makes for a very demanding day of autocross with winners taking it all by 1000ths.

It's typically a MASSIVE course. A few of the SSSS in the past have approached 2 minute laps. That coupled with a top 8 in PAX shootout at the end makes it pretty darn cool. The top 8 in PAX go through a single elimination shootout at the end of the day.

You would expect big numbers, but it's hard to get folks over to the BHam area for some reason. Spread the word on your end bring a friend or two. More runs for those who show if the crowd is a little small. Either way it's allot of fun.
