Club truck and trailer wash day

Hey, everyone. As you all know, the ALSCCA truck and trailer are in need of some TLC. We’re looking to have a cleaning day on Saturday, 7/9. We will have a pressure washer and some car wash supplies available. Please sign up here if you can help with the cleaning, and also let us know if you have any cleaning supplies you can bring. This is something that NEEDS done, as when we take the truck to events where photos are taken, it's a bit of an eye sore in its current state.

I can come and bring my ladder. Do we have water access at Barber's sorted?

Yes, we will have water available. I will double check with Rod or Steven on Saturday to make sure I know exactly where to go.

Also, the more people who come to help out, the quicker we can get done. I don’t anticipate going all the way until 2. Hopefully, we’ll be done by 12 at the latest.

I'll show you the location behind the Porsche Track Experience office, just to the left after you enter the "guarded gate."
I'll also notify the appropriate folks that we are coming that day - Chin Motorsports has the track that day.
I have a wedding that day and won't be able to attend.

Thanks, Jim, for showing us where and arranging with the track. Since we’ll be inside the gate, will we need any kind of waiver signed?

Yes Josh, signing the Track waiver, not the Chin waiver.
I'll ask do we do that at the credentials building or at the gate since there are so few of us.
I don't remember there being electricity on the outside of that building.
Turns out my wedding is an evening affair, i should be able to make the truck wash.

Sounds great, Jim. My pressure washer is gas, so electricity won’t be a problem. Also, you bring up a good point. If anyone can come out for some of the time but not all of the time, please feel free to join us. This is also meant to be a time to hang out and enjoy some fellow car enthusiasts’ company as much as it is just getting the job done. I’m sure we’ll discuss the possibility of going to a reasonably priced restaurant for a lunch afterwards.

If’s you are planning on coming to the truck washing, please let us know by replying to this. I’ll be providing a cooler with Gatorades and waters to keep us hydrated and would like to estimate how much to bring.

Hey, everyone! Just a reminder about the truck and trailer wash this weekend. Please let us know if you can come. Also, if you have any car wash gear (buckets, wash mits, rags, soap, etc.). The truck and trailer really do need it, and it’s something we can all do to show a little appreciation to the club for hosting the autocross events. Thanks!

I'll for sure be there. You said something about hopefully being done by noon, and your original post says we are starting at 3pm.
I'm fine with whatever time, so long as we nail one down.

Huge thank you to Nick Lindsay, James Mitchell, and Steve Saunders for coming out to the truck and trailer wash today! There was a lot of elbow grease put into cleaning the truck and trailer, so please thank these guys when you see them. You’ll be able to see the difference at the Points 4 Autocross coming up on July 23rd!

Yes, truck and trailer wash went well. The truck cleaned up quite nicely. However, the trailer required much degreaser and elbow grease to a point the paint started coming off a bit. It's as clean as it's going to get!

I think this fall, we are going to need to revisit the trailer to do a cleanup inside to get rid of some of the junk that doesn't get used (truck may also catch our wrath in this same regard), and do some work to the roof to handle any leaks it may have.

This brings me to my next point. Does anybody know if that AC has ever worked on the trailer, and when the last time it run was? It may be a possible leak where it mounts, and I'd elect just to take it off and seal off the hole to prevent future leaks, but, if it has potential to work, it may be worth getting it going again so our timing guys can stay cool, if it's in the cards.

Maybe John Waight would know?
