  • Tech Sheet

If you're new to autocross, or maybe even a more seasoned participant, and may be wondering, "Will my car pass tech at an event?" and wish there was some sort of guide you could look over prior to an event to make sure your car is ready to compete, then you have come to the right place!

I've attached the "Tech Reference Guide" PDF below.

Looking over this document should give you a list of things to check on your vehicle before driving all the way out to an event and potentially being let down to know you can't compete because your vehicle failed tech.

This is the exact guide the ALSCCA will follow to tech your vehicle at the events.

    *An important note*
Sound is monitored at some sites, and some are stricter than others. Your car should be at or below 96 decibels.
There is no standard measurement of sound between all sites either. Sometimes there is a more sensitive microphone, and sometimes they are in a spot that may catch more sound off of buildings. Atmospheric conditions can even change decibels.
Chances are, if your vehicle is obnoxiously loud, you won't get more than one run at an event.
Sound is the #1 reason motorsports events get scrutinized, and ultimately, sites lost, and this is something sites with decibel limits aren't very flexible with for that reason.

Feel free to leave any feedback, or questions below.

If at first you don't succeed, you probably put it in the ditch.
