  • nice day at BRC today

I for one did not let the little bit of rain put any kinda damper on my day.I think everyone did a fantastic job given the hurdles that presented themselves .I enjoyed seeing Matt {my son) run his first day of solo in a car.He had some rough edges to rub off using the clutch but outside of that and much conage due to the car being 5 times wider than he is used to ...he did a fine job .

This was his 5th time to drive a car.I was impressed/surprised that he was as aggressive as he was .Im very much the proud papa if you cant tell. Thanks to all of the setup crew and the folks that came out early this morning to make it all happen .

Let's see, I give it 3 years and you'll be carrying his helmet.

I have to agree with you Ricky. Matt was getting more and more comfortable with each run. He'll only get better with time.

Matt seems to take to the car well. He is finding (like James did) that a car is much wider than a cart! It's great to see the kids involved with something you enjoy also.

My daughter Kristen did her first official autocross yesterday. She really enjoys it. Her twin sister will probably co-drive with her next time (will be her first event also).

            They sure grow up quickly

We almost had 3 kids doing their first autox yesterday. My 15yr old son Zac would have driven if we had been in his car. At 6'5" he has a hard time in the Miata...not much room in the footwell for size 14s!

Once he gets his license in July we will be out in both cars.

Size 14s!!! In a Miata he can push all three pedals with one foot!

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.

The bright side is neither Zac nor my about-to-be 14 youngest son (6'4", size 13s) will ever ask to borrow the Miata!

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

well...there is that! We may bring the Si if we can get to the next event.

To bring it back on topic, I can't believe how nice the day turned out. I had little hope when we left for the BRC but it was a great afternoon and I got to introduce my wife and youngest son to the sport.
