^+1, and I also think Clay has a pretty good idea. I don't see getting someone to pay $500 for damage at an AutoX event. That's more like what you pay for replacing a wall at Barbers. I see the person opting to just not run here anymore before they pay that much.

Well, many possible solutions have been mentioned already. Let's do something about it. I stand by my previous suggestion ... the light will be hit eventually, so plan for that with shock absorption and lay out the course with slightly slower, straight finishes. Also, remind everyone that the lights are expensive and to slow down at the finish.

You could start using a stop box after the lights, that way everyone has to slow down, or they will hit cones and be penalized. The problem isn't how fast the finish is, it's that when you come off the last turn you are trying to go full throttle no matter if it's a super slow turn, fast turn, by the finish, or a good distance from it. When you go 100% throttle 100s of times a day someone is going to get out of whack coming off the that corner, and which way they are going to end up going, is anyones guess.

as an example of what can be done on the finish, take the last events finish. take out everything after the 2x 90deg (1 tight sweeper) turns & move the lights closer to the turn. is this the kind of you people are refering to (tight feature followed by straight)?

I agree. Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and try to get along.

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.
