Welcome Mike, I'm Vincent and I drive the loudest street car at the events a RX7...lol. I am a newbie too, but I'm sure I can offer you some advice. I am a fellow novice this year, so if you have some problems, just ask!

I will come by this Sunday and say hello. It will be very hard for me to watch and not drive (but my doc said no). I may ride over on my bike (Ducati Monster) just to reduce the frustration on not being able to drive my car. I will be the one with no hair with the confused look on their face. See you this weekend.

The interesting thing is that participating in an autocross event is much safer than taking to the public highways on a motorcycle.

I would tend to agree with that. I am sure my doctor would not approve me riding my bike either, but that does not require written permission (perhaps it should), as SCCA does require it as far as my reading of the rules indicates. I asked this week and was declined.

I may be too weak to ride safely, in that case I will drive. I am transitioning from bikes to cars (track oriented activities) as I too believe it is much safer. I have not gone cold turkey however and have kept one bike for an occasional ride with friends. My days of on track antics on motorcycles likely is over.

Look forward to meeting folks and seeing what this solo stuff is all about. Looks like a great group of folks out to have fun and share their passion for motorsports.

SOLO (autocross) does not require a medical.

I challenge you to a noise duel, sir! I have the loudest street car ...

And welcome Mike. I'm Matt and I drive the gray Evo (to the event at least). If I ever decide to compete again, you're welcome to go for a ride. Otherwise, you'll find me in the timing trailer ... or making my way there shortly after Jordan breaks the system.

It was great stopping by today. Unfortunately my last chemo cycle has hit me pretty hard so I could only hang out for the 1st round of laps and a little of the 2nd. Everyone is very friendly and it looks like a lot of fun. A great way to learn how to drive my new ride. I even got a fast lap ride but almost DNF'd my generous driver by sticking my hand out the window to hang on. Thanks Bob.

This will really give me something to look forward to when I finish chemo, etc. It was clear from my one passenger lap that I would not have had the focus/concentration to pull off doing this at a reasonable speed currently.

Hey, some of us run less-than-reasonable speeds, so nobody would've noticed. It was nice to see your car pull into the lot, today.

I don't remember his car being that loud, but after hearing it today I will say he has earned the title. Until the first gen runs again ....

I'm fairly certain that autocross has healing powers. Hope you get well enough to drive soon, can't wait to see the Carrera out there!
