Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • 2009 Solo Season Pass

Is there such a thing this year as the Solo Season Pass? A XX% discount if you pay a whole season entry fees at once.

    Thank you, that is all.

We do this in Atlanta Region, it helps cut down on the registration lines at events and jump starts the cash flow for the year.

Darryl is correct in that the whole season pass was for setup folks only last year.

Yep, I know it was for the setup crew and that it was last year, but I'm asking about this year and non-setup crew peoples. Since we're headed for the 3rd event it's kinda late to do anything now but it'd be nice to have that option at the beginning of the year. Just a suggestion to increase cash flow from the get-go and cutdown on registration line waiting. What Meredith said.

What would be the policy on no shows? Say you forgot your sister in law's wedding, or you get sick or something? You would probably want a refund for the days you can't make it. Or would the entire price be cheaper due to the bulk buy?

Also, what if you worked a TT or any other event like that and had passes for free events?

If it was up to me you would get a 15-20% discount, must be payed no later than the first event no exceptions and no prorate. You miss an event you get no refund. Whats the point in giving you a discount if there is no risk to you.

You get a free pass for working a TT/PDX/NDCCC you sell it or give it to someone you are trying to recruit. If you plan on working a bunch don't prepay.

If any of this is a problem, don't prepay. It's a gamble.

                  I wouldn't make a good Solo chair...

Yes Darryl...you would make an excellent solo chairman.Of course this whole subject is absolutely and completely up to the present solo chairman, but,in regards to refunds for missed events....it is a commitment that the participant makes when they accept the "pay it forward" discount to make it to all of the events they pay for .If I were making the guidelines ,It would have a no refund policy.

In regards to working a TT and having a free pass for solo....those passes work at TVR events as well.

Quite honestly ..our dire need right now is not upfront cash flow ...its more entrys to solo period. The solo attendance has been on the decline for the last 4 years.

Agreed, I wish I could fix that. I think Jamie is doing some good things like the clubs but we need more. I really miss the 80+ driver days. Three run groups, lots of cool cars to gawk over and 12 drivers in CSP...

Oh come now Darryl...you know how to fix it .just magically make everyone make more money at work and it will magically translate into more solo entries.LOL.It is simply just a matter of adapting to the times that are at hand .Last year we had it figured at 85 to be able to do 3 run groups with semi large courses.

Back to the subject at hand.......what benefits to those interested in season passes are there?Sell the concept .

Not to rebut anyone but from my viewpoint, here are the facts Im looking at .The entries are hovering around the low 40s so registration lines should absolutely not be long .The break even point for the event is about that so offering any discounts is not hardly feasible from an accounting standpoint .As a past solo chairman I know firsthand that having to keep up with folks who paid ahead is just another thing to keep up with.

Im not throwing a brick through the window of "season pass"but I am offering some arguement to the side that "it is probably not a great idea at this present time ".

You mean the bailout isn't helping the solo entries??

If it happens next year why not make the cost for a yearly pass the same as 8 runs, which is what counts toward points. Then that gives you the opportunity to miss 2 throught the year. Which would be a %20 discount, and of course some would make 5-6 and some all but it should even out.

According to Ervin's post ALSCCA made a killing off him. He bought 9 and used three ALSCCA got 6 entries with no cones to pick up.

Dedicated full time SCCA member entrants would get a discount, a reward if you will, for being there every event and being a SCCA member. You know the saying, "Membership has its rewards". For those people looking to save money, important in the current economy, they would feel they are getting a deal. It would be up to them to come to the events so no refunds for missed events. As far as the keeping track part of it, I don't know the registration software but I would assume you could add a column with a check mark indicating "Season Pass". I'm just trying to think of ways the SCCA club member can get a warm fuzzy feeling on local autocross events. One where the member gets some love for their dedication and offer an incentive for non-members to join SCCA.

Perhaps as a current economic stimulus package for our sport we have a entry fee reduction to get folks back out for the events. To offset some of the expense, drop the trophies until the economy gets more stable and folks wouldn't fear spending a $30-$40 entry fee. I'm just throwing out ideas. What do you think? We are members of a club, what can we do to make the club and its events better?

It's slow at work and I'm thinking too much.
