    GENERAL INFO
    • Mr. Barber is firm on Quiet Hour from 11 to noon on Sundays. It is critical that all early workers are on time (as in little early) on Saturday and especially Sunday so we can stick to the schedule. We will shoot for three runs before the break but everything must run to plan to get to three, then four to five more in the afternoon. Six to eight total runs even if we hit the entrant cap.

    • Due to the time constraints Sunday morning (and first event of the year) we’ll need the most multi-position experienced folks possible to ensure we pull this off smoothly - don't let that stop you from volunteering if you're less experienced. Positions will not necessarily be assigned in the chronological order requested. Take note of Shadows mentioned below.

    • We have access to the site for course setup on Saturday the 7th from 3 – 5 PM. We must take advantage of this to ensure Sunday morning runs well.

    • We’ll need two sets of truck and trailer drivers. I’ll cover Saturday to get it there but will need a Course Setup volunteer to get me home (off 280 towards Chelsea). We’ll need an SCCA Member (driver) and a helper to get it back to the storage yard after the event Sunday. Sunday Truck and Trailer team will NOT have any other work assignment unless they volunteer to do so.

    • Course Setup will be as simple as following a printed course map. The grid and parking setup on the pad may be a little tricky since there are no painted lines.

    • Solo Safety Stewards: If possible, I’d like an SSS to come by the site on Saturday ~4:30 for a preliminary course walk. I’d like the second SSS to help setup the Waiver Station Sunday morning (10-15 minutes ~7 AM). Jim Farris is on the Sanction.

    • Waivers: Everyone working Waivers must be an SCCA Member. The Waiver’s Station will also handle the Free Weekend Memberships required for non-competitor passengers. Please do not send anyone to the trailer for a Weekend Membership. If you volunteer for Waivers, please PM me your email address for further instructions.

    • Registration and payment for this event is online. I will try to stay ahead of any classing corrections to minimize changes at check-in. Weekend Memberships for entrants will be managed through MSReg.

    • Tech Inspectors: Only experienced SCCA Members can work Tech.

    • Novice Coaches should be experienced. We expect a large group, having two coaches would be best.

    • Shadows: If you’re interested in learning any of the skilled Early Worker positions (registration, trailer setup, tech, worker chief, timing etc.), offer to Shadow. We’ll do our best to make it your worker position. The number of Shadow Positions offered will depend on the number of entrants. SSS shadows have first priority.

    • Please let us know if you’re experience with Timing or are interested in shadowing to learn this position.

Ideally Early Workers would not be required to work during the event, but if attendance is low or

there’s a high rate of Novice entries, we may need you to cover an additional position.

    Steve,
Per our discussion earlier this week, I'll do SSS. I can't come on Saturday as I have a Thur-Sat Porsche gig at Amelia Island.

Wherever, I just can't do early stuff. Not experienced with timing and scoring by myself at least.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

We may need some new signs for the Proving Ground events and maybe some "paddock guide" work assignments. I'm guessing due to space constraints we can only allow race vehicles on the Proving Ground proper. Trucks & trailers and all spectator/non-race vehicles will need directions.

Yes, only entrants on the pad. I've completed a site map for parking that will go out to all entrants next week. Competitor areas and Guest areas are well defined. Assuming most folks read it and communicate it to anyone they invite out, it should be relatively smooth. The A Frame signs we have can be repurposed to help communicate where to go. None of this will really be an issue until entries break 75 or so. If entries max out we'll need a second early waiver person and possibly a traffic director.

I'll cover the lunch waiver spot.

Zac will take the second Tech spot.

I was hoping to learn timing and scoring, I suppose I can help with the check in and such too, and setup?

Sounds good Lee. The biggest need is for you to help Miles to learn T&S early setup.

Steve, please add Kim Thees to the T&S list. She PM'd me. She has done it before but it's been a while so it may be best for her to help someone this time out.

                    .
That was the plan. What time and days do you need me there? I am as of now planning 7am Sunday.
