ATTN! ALSCCA Points-4 Event is Cancelled!!!

This event has been cancelled due to lack of safety stewards, lack of registrants, and poor weather forecast. Cameron posted a note in another thread, but wanted to make sure everyone saw this. We had some people that were registered from out of state making the trip to Talladega.

As a region, we need to plan ahe ahead to keep this from happening again. IMHO of course.

Plan ahead? Do you think these events are spur of the moment?
We need more people to volunteer for a specialty. Take on a responsibility for the events. Our skilled worker list has a familiar pattern. It looks like the same small group that does everything. The region does plan ahead, we just aren’t getting the support from the club members like we use to. Maybe the short courses are hurting us, or maybe the novices aren’t aware that they can help out. Either way, without support we can’t have events.

We need more specialty workers but this cancellation was a perfect storm of almost all of our specialty workers being out of town/unavailable and a dismal preregistration turnout.

I don't think it's a big secret that the venues or lack thereof is the real problem.

I'm not saying it's anyones fault obviously. We all want a nice big venue and for everyone to come...just stating the obvious. It's why I haven't been coming to Dega and I know most others have said the same. Hoover isn't really much better either with the space we're allowed to use. We all want to race but a lot of us live hours away. It's a lot of prep and commuting and The Reward Simply Isn't There. Bottom line. I wouldn't expect any changes until there is a change. Just being Frank here and I don't even know the guy... lol ahhhh i'm hilarious.

Not trying to make anyone mad or hurt anyone's feelings. I know a lot of you have put in hard work to provide us with what we have and i'm thankful for that. Just some feedback.
