Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Once you've registered, head on over to the early worker thread and sign up there! If you haven't worked an early position before and are nervous about it, feel free to PM either Josh or me for more details.

We love to see new folks learning those positions, plus they mean you don't have to work course!

Where is the best entrance for our cars? I know the main has a pretty big dip. Is there one everyone used last time. (I wasn't there).

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

That's where we entered last time. I didn't hear about anyone having an issue.

We all went through the tunnel without issue. Hell I even dragged my trailer through it fine.

If somebody has a really big rig, there used to be a gate to cross the back straight, near NASCAR turn 3. We had that opened for us when we ran our TT there in 2001.

Signed up for this weekend. It will be my first solo. I'm assuming this is a rain or shine event?

That is correct. Pick up a light rain jacket if weather looks iffy, & come have fun either way. Also, if you need to take things out of your car on site, it's nice to have a trash bag to keep it in so it stays dry.

Congrats to Josh Bassett and Cameron Hall for another fun event at Talladega! Steve Saunders designed a fun course that made you think and be patient. Small crowd but we had a great time. Good competition and lots of entertainment. Congrats to Daniel Isbell for Top time of the day. Awesome job throwing that ND around he course. Thanks to the small but dedicated set up crew. 8 runs and a lunch hour and best of all, no rain! Great job!!
