I won't be able to make it to this after all.

Forum will no longer be utilized!
After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.
Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.
What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

If the course does two hairpins to get it farther away from the fence and then a straight shot through the gate from a slower turning speed, it could meet the intent of the rule.Originally posted by JohnW8 View PostUnless that gate opening is a minimum of 65' wide we can't go through it. (it's approx. 30')
For example, for a street solo in NY state about 30 years ago, the national office approved a short section (50 - 100 yards) of a narrow street (maybe 24 feet wide) with curbs technically too close, as long as the course allowed a controlled entry into that feature, and the course was delineated by a straight line of gates the minimum width apart.
Here's a rough idea what that course looked like, IIRC. Church Street is where the narrow section was -Last edited by chuck schultz; 11-10-2017, 07:21 PM.Chuck Schultz

It's time to sign up and help out for this upcoming event! Charlie is on vacation and Josh is stuck at work so there have been some changes. Since I technically can't be the safety steward AND event chair, we need another safety steward to help Chris Chatta. If you are part of the setup crew, please sign up so we can get your names on the setup crew list. Clay is going to need some help. We're a club not a business so we need the support of the club members to put these events on. Step up to keep the program going strong! Thanks!John W8

I can do registration as long as Miles populates the Event with entrants. I won't need another 2 people except I don't have experience with credit cards so if you are accepting credit/debit then a person for that should be available.Mike C.

The card reader we use is super easy. You just type in the amount and swipe. It does require a phone with a headphone jack.Originally posted by mpcavana View PostI don't have experience with credit cards so if you are accepting credit/debit then a person for that should be available.Delanie Calhoun

Guys, I have some bad news. I just got back from a work trip & my Mom was put in the hospital while I was gone. She is having complications & it doesn't look like I will be able to make it at the moment. I'm hoping John or Mike can handle the SS duties. I apologize!Chris Chatta

Hope your mom gets well soon Chris!
Thanks John, Mike & Delanie for the help! It is much appreciated.
Fyi, I have been communicating on Facebook with a mother who's 15 year old son is registered in an 02 Miata. I have her a link to the SCCA Minor Waiver and told her it needed to be completed and brought with him to registration. As a permitted driver he must have a licensed driver in the car whenever he is driving, just like on the road.Rod H
