Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • Bristol Champ and Match Tour!

I got an e-mail reminder today from the ETR region about the Bristol Champ and Match Tours that are coming up over the 4th of July weekend. Here is a copy/paste of the e-mail

This is a reminder to all ETR members our Champ & Match Tour RESGISTRATION DATE is creeping up on us..... WEDNESDAY MAY 17th at 3PM EST registration will open for the CHAMP TOUR with a 300 car limit. Put this date on your calender and get registered. Our MATCH TOUR will open the following week on WEDNESDAY MAY 24th at 3PM EST with a 200 car limit.
    Important sign up dates:

Bristol Champ Tour 300 car limit - Wednesday May 17th - Registration opens at 3PM EST

    CHAMP TOUR: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...ational-213167

Bristol Match Tour 200 car limit - Wednesday May 24th - Registration opens at 3PM EST

    MATCH TOUR: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...ational-495303

I plan to at least do the Champ Tour as it is the actual Saturday and Sunday before the 4th of July. The Match Tour is Monday and Tuesday, I'm still in the air about it. I might sign up and just do the first day to see if I can get some contingency but still get home to spend the 4th of July with Family.

I'm going up and looking for a co driver. Get up with me if interested in driving the POS2000. Jerry just took ftd at last weekend's wiregrass event. I plan on leaving from huntsville that Friday morning. My in-laws live there.

Registered in the DS Ecostang for both. Looks like only 2 spots left in the Match Tour as of 1016 this morning.

You got tires? I got some take off 275/35R18's RE71Rs that have 4 to 5/32nds left in the middle tread, a little less on the edges. Only 7 events on them if you're interested. I've heard they're back ordered on TireRack.

I'll keep those in mind, but that size is a bit too short for the already gearing-challenged Mustang. Might make autocross a 2nd & 3rd gear thing rather than 1/2 though. The stock size is 27" outside diameter.

I've got some of the new Nexens on order to try on 18s. If I ordered RE71Rs today I would be tempted to get 265/40-19 which are taller than the more typically 275/35-19.

                  Have you gone BFG?

Gotcha, didn't know about the tall size on the mustangs, just knew the FS BMW's ran this size so thought you might as well.

No, not BFG on mine. I just bought a new set of Bridgestones for Dixie so the one's I'm selling were from before Dixie. I'll be on the RE71R at Bristol but if everything is still on back order after that event I'll be looking at trying either the BFG or the Nexen. Leaning towards BFG if they're actually supposed to do better on concrete at Lincoln.

I was gonna say some people have had success dropping to 18s on Mustang GTs like mine, then I looked at the gearing in the Ecostang, yikes.

I got a set of 18s and may give it a shot, but something like a 275/40-18 is the same OD as the commonly run 275/35-19. There aren't very many choices for tires in the sizes I need so having options should help.

No not yet, I'm not too upset about it. I was only going to run the first day (Monday) anyway since a Thursday->Monday stay at Hampton Inn gets a special rate. 1 more day on the stay is +$200.

Edit: now on waitlist cuz why not
