Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • Dixie National Tour Event - reg opens Feb 1st

I know there hasn't been much auto-x related here recently but the Dixie National Tour registration will open on Wednesday Feb. 1st.

SCCA - National - National Tour on Friday, March 17, 2017 - Sunday, March 19, 2017 at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Adel, GA - Entry Cap for this event is 275 not including Formula Juniors. All Events Must have 120 entrants 2 weeks prior to the event or it will be in jeopardy Site Location South Georgia Motorsports Park 2521 ...

Hope to see a bunch of ALSCCA folks there! I will be there running STU in the Z. This is the closest national event to us this year!

If you're new to auto-x or don't think you're ready for a National Event you're wrong! This is a great experience and one close enough to go and get used to how National Events are run.

Can you fit in a 350Z with a stock seat?

I offered the co-drive to Rod first, but he may or may not be co-driving with Clay. So he has first dibs but you're welcome if he can't.

I highly doubt it. When's the next event we can both be at for me to see?

If things go right I plan to do the next 2 Wiregrass events since we (ALSCCA) don't have a schedule yet. Also Huntsville's season doesn't start until after Dixie.

The first Wiregrass event is Feb 12th and the next one is March 12th, the weekend before Dixie.

You could get C to give you some gas monies and come down, sit in the car, and pick up those tires for him?

The only other event I know about is that Dixie region is having another event on Feb. 26th at SGMP. However I have to fly out to Chicago the next day so I doubt I can make that one.

I'll let C chime in to see if he wants to pay for the trip to pick up tires. But best I recall, I don't fit in a Z. I'm sure I have a friend or acquaintance locally that has one that I can try.

Also Huntsville's season doesn't start until after Dixie.

TAC has a non-points autocross, March 5th, during the Performance Driving School weekend.

Good to know, thanks! I just saw it listed as a Driving School weekend on the TAC/TVR calendar so I assumed no auto-x.

I'm registered. New shocks showed up yesterday, about two weeks earlier than expected. I am worried the new tires won't make it in time though. Apparently the CAM guys hoarded the wide rubber.

I know you've told me before, but it must have went in the recycle bin. What size tires do you use on a GS? Do you step down to 18s in the rear? My recollection is that's what the z06 guys do.

Yes, rears are dropped to 18's. Stock 275/35/18 up front and 335/30/18 in the back. And yes that's what most of the Z06 / GS guys do and seems to work best with current options.
