Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

I know Kumho's have yielded excellent times when they are stone cold. Maybe going all out on run#1 is not such a bad idea.

As already mentioned for a 2 day event, it is imperative to get a clean run in on day 1.

Also, if you "think" you've nicked a cone do not give up. Continue to concentrate and drive according to your plan. Sometimes those orange pyramids have a way of staying up and standing in the box. I've seen a fat tired CP car completely flatten a cone and then watched the cone stand back up - in the box.

Here's the thing. Do you already think that because Johns is running CSP that you are running for second or do you know you can beat him? It sounds rediculous and cliche, but if you are running for 2nd then thats probably where you will end up or worse. I don't even care if you know you are outgunned if you think you're beat going in you're done.

I personally think that any number of people from this region are more than capable of winning in CSP.

I agree with the Jedi. There's more than one driver from AL region that is capable of winning down at the Dixie Tour. I'm telling you, chasing after that CSP marshall badge has made you better than you think. Git-r-done in 3 runs.

Did you call your cell phone from your home phone or vice-versa? I know you're excited about the new car and all of the stuff you guys have done to it, but that's a little weird....

I'm just riding coat tails. If I have anything at all to offer competitively this season, it is a direct result of all the guidance from fellow club members. I cannot express the volumes of information that I received from everyone (the most helpful from competitors) and the only requirement was that I ask. It says a great deal about our club that we so quickly sacrifice hard earned advantages for the sake of competition. Thanks to all the CSP'rs especially Darryl, Walley, and Lyle for guidance. Looking forward to the 09 season with great anticipation.

Congrats Mark! Lyle told me about your offseason updates. This season will be a lot of fun for CSP. Are you going to any of the tours?

I agree Sean. Several in regional CSP drivers could win at a tour. If you let things get in our head your done. I still have to work on my race day mental preparations. I had it worked out pretty well in my head based on last years competition and then to see Brian added to CSP just gave me more a little more to get ready for. That, and Lyle is driving me insane with details on every nut and bolt on Brians car, right down to dyno sheets. That ain't helping Lyle! I plan on going to the tour and driving as well as I can and see where it all shakes out.

This road racing / time trial / autocross / pdx season is already taking it's toll on me. I'm getting burned out

it might be just me, but, I always drive faster when there is a more known (faster driver) out there in front of me, gives me an extra little push

Nonsense John! (In silly annoucers voice) "Don't let the heat of the competition get you down! You must rise up to the occassion and look into your feared competiors' eyes and let them know that you are hear to kick their ass." LOL

Some of the commentary is funny, but running Tours and even at Nationals, the competition is pretty low key. There is the occasional eccentric and people stand around playing little mind games sure. But most drivers are trading stories about the last run. In Impound, the talk turns to what should have been, what you did right and where you're going to get a beer at the end of the day.

I don't drive 8 or more hours for 3-6 minutes of driving for glory. I go to visit with people that love cars and like to have fun. Autocross is a great sport!

Thanks! Definitley planning to attend some TVR events for seat time and experience, but I'll let CSP's best represent us in the big events. You guys tear'em up at Dixie. Looking forward to the upcoming season.

You need to hang out in a ladies grid at nationals... the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
