Due to the increasing complexity of running an Autocross event I will be making some changes to how the program is run. The first is going to be implemented now and will be in place for the rest of the season and going forward. This will be 2 new worker positions: Trailer Transportation and Worker Chief.
Trailer Transportation will be 2 people (ALSCCA Members) responsible for getting the truck and trailer to the event and taking it back. This will be your only work assignment for the day. You will also get a $15 discount.
Worker Chief will be one experienced person responsible for assigning all work assignments for all run groups. This will be your only work assignment for the day. You will also get a $15 discount.
Beginning next season we will have event masters for each autocross event. As event master you call the shots for that particular event and manage the day of operations. You make sure you have all the workers you need, you make the call how many run groups to have, and how the scoring will be handled. Things that will be set/taken care of in advance by me are the schedule, venue, SEDIV Event, and Insurance.
This is needed because we can’t all be at every event all the time. If I can't make an event we need to have someone who can step in and know how to run everything.
Lastly, Mark Kilgore is stepping down as co-chair at the end of the season. I have asked Charley D'Ambrose to step in as co-chair.
If you are interested in either of the 2 new worker positions or would like to be an event master please let me or Charley know. Thanks
