I'm signed up. I'd like to sign my daughter up however I just learned her kart suit will not arrive before the event. I bought her a new SA2010 helmet, is there anything I can substitute in place of her actual kart suit for this one event so she can run?

FYI, I will not be able to make the test n tune event, so I'm not sure there will even be a Youth Steward available.

Mark/Sam - Please advise if you are aware of any Youth Stewards who may be at the event.

As far as the kart suit, the SCCA rules require the following:

        G. Driver Safety Equipment
        1. Neck Braces: An unaltered, collar type neck brace designed for motor
sports use, is mandatory. Kart-specific neck braces are recommended.

        2. Driver Apparel: Drivers are minimally required to wear jackets
of leather, vinyl, or abrasion resistant nylon or equivalent, and full
length pants to prevent or minimize abrasions. Full abrasion kart
suits are recommended. Shoes, socks, and abrasion resistant gloves
        are mandatory

Also, please note the equipment safety requirements:
        E. Safety Equipment
        1. Must follow Section 19.1.G. In addition to meeting the requirements
of Section 4.3.1, helmets for Formula Junior drivers must be of closed
face design, incorporating full face shields and chin bars.
        2. Kill Switch: All drivers must demonstrate the ability to shut down
the engine both while driving and stationary. It is suggested that the
kart have an operational ignition kill switch within easy reach of the
driver in the normal operating position.
        3. Seats: It is not permissible to use any type of strap or seat belt. In
the event a kart is upset, a driver must be able to exit the kart unrestrained
by a seat belt or strap. It is recommended to utilize some
form of seat insert and pedal extensions to fit drivers of different
        sizes to one seat.
        4. A “brake safety cable” or redundant brake pedal connection is required
        in all karts.

Hhmm looks like shell miss out this time around. No worries. I did however go through the rule book prior and ordered her a full kart suit with l
Gloves, shoes and kart neck brace so that she will be legal.

Is the Open Test'n'Tune a good first timer event? Or should I wait for the first points event? I'm planning to run the season, but never done Solo. I have been on a track if that matters, so not a complete novice.

            Thanks

Yes, the test and tune is a great place to start. It's a more relaxed event since there is no real competition and you'll probably get more runs than normal.

Would this event be included in the annual pass since its not a points event?

According the 2015 Supplemental Rules posted in the top sticky of this forum, all open Test N' Tune events are included in the annual pass, but not the private ones. So this event is included.

Well as luck would have it her kart suit and the rest of her safety equipment came in the mail today ahead of schedule. Can someone please confirm for sure if there will be a youth steward or not?

I cannot confirm it, but since Andrew has said he will not be there, I doubt we will have one.
