Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • Test and Tune Layout...

It's short and sweet. Probably will need some tweaking once we actually start laying it out, but it's a good place to start I think. Let me know what you think. Green area is the paddock, blue is the trailer, bright green start and red finish. Just in case, the cones are ORANGE .

My idea for this is to run the config in the pic as a session 1 and then invert the start and finish directions in the afternoon to get a feel for your car going in both directions. I have not run this by the powers that be just yet, but seeing as it is just a test and tune and no points will be given out it seems to me that it would be a great way to really test your car for the vets and give the rookies an all around workout as well. We could switch this over during a quick lunch break.

We should have room at the far end of the lot for either a figure 8 or a skid pad. Give me an idea in here which one you would prefer and we will go with whichever gets the most votes.

    oops...

It seems I have set the layout out into the grass. Obviously I didn't mean to do this. Just take a look at that layout and picture it all being on the tarmac.

12 people have looked and not one reply. Thanks for the feedback folks! Very helpful, lol

I personally don't like the idea of another feature separate from the main course area. But, if Jamie is OK with it we can do it, as long as there is a SS present at that feature.

I would LOVE to have a skid pad set-up. I really want to work on setting the right tire pressure on the rear tires and I think a circular skid pad would be great!!!

              Otherwise the course looks great!!

Move the whole course up a set of light poles so that the loop is where it usually is. That will move the start/finish to avoid the last humps. Just a suggestion.

I hope to be out there to help setup if I am not out of town working.

good idea Clay. Can you think of any way to make it safe to switch directions in the afternoon. I guess we could move the grid or will we even have a grid area? We could switch the start and finish and just have folks drive to tyhe bottom of the parking lot and back up the outside to avoid the cars coming through the finish. Just a thought.

Let Alan Branch stand in the area you want the cars to avoid. He's really scary looking!

                      But seriously ladies and germs,

When you reverse direction (and the lower course is the finish), take out the last chicago box and move slalom up to there. Then have a fast straight finish that will give plenty of room for cars to brake before turning right into paddock or left back into grid area. Fast straight braking is a good thing to tune!

                        yep, cool.

Hope you can make it out. It's been forever since I actually set up a course. I'm sure I can handle it, but it's always nice to have soemone there that isn't quite as rusty as I am, lol.

The only way we can do two seperate features is to have two safety stewards that would be wiling to be there and watcing each of them all day. if it's possible we will look into it.
