I was curious what kind of rules / procedures there might be if I wanted to have someone else drive my car for a run or two at the next autox. Not wanting them scored but have a "ringer" drive it to see where I lose time / what changes need to be made to the car to help balance it out or what it needs suspension wise to go forward.

Ask someone who you think would be able to help you with some driving tips to co-drive your car. Walk the course with some experienced driver also helps. Someone like Rod, John W8, Clay etc. CChaisit T aka C the gangster

There are two "easy buttons" that come to mind. Like C said, the first is to see if someone would like to codrive the event with you. That way you get all your runs plus you can ride with them in your car during some of their runs to see what they may do differently. I did this for a while when I got started and it was a huge help.
The second way is grab someone to take one of your runs while you ride along. When you get to start have the starter tell the timing trailer to DNF the run. You'll see the time but it won't affect your results...i.e. no ringer effect. This way costs you one of your runs and only gives the other driver one shot at the course in a strange car, so it will likely not be as beneficial as having a codriver for the entire event.Rod H

A big help can be to ride along with someone else in their car and see how they approach/take/ exit features. And the most important is to learn how to "walk" the course with someone to see how to approach your runs. Also, if the other driver is in your class, they can swap cars for their run. As long as you stay in the same class, you can swap cars all you like.Matt W.
