Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

    Hey Guys,

I live in Huntsville but plan on making all bham events as well this year. I usually never have an issue with no one else being in my class in bham(DSP), but always do in Huntsville. Huntsville I was recently told I could run STM(Street Tire Modified) as another option. I was just curious if there was anything similar to the "run what you brung" class that Huntsville has in bham?

I have a larger throttle body and different intake manifold on the car which is why I run DSP.

    STF maybe
    XDSP for sure
    SMF for sure
    XP pretty sure

Only chooses I see with other cars registered.

I'm not sure what the STM rules are, but if you are worried about having competition, and are looking to compete in a class championship, then you could always run in the Tire Pax class. This class allows you to run any class car on Street Tires utilizing the PAX modifier. You are pretty much always guaranteed class competition and the chance for a class championship at the end of the year.
There are so many classes available in the SCCA Solo rulebook, we try to keep the local classes as minimal as possible.

You're driving the Civic Si, right? It could be in STX, not STF, but the throttle body & intake manifold is not allowed in Street Touring.

Your best bet in the Tire PAX class is to run TDSP. Tire was once a large class but the advent of the Street classes this year have basically gutted it since most of the prior competitors were running Stock class and now transitioned to Street.

The best chance of head-to-head competition for you in Bham is probably XP. Unless you want to try to break up the Evo party in SM

HA! I want nothing to do with getting smashed by the Evo party. Yeah, I'm in the Civic Si. Bham I'll stick to DSP for this weekend. Usually I always have at least a couple others in bham. I'll look into XP as well and get some magnets ordered.

We will have Magnet board in 12"x24" white for $6 and all the class and numbers for sale in black vinyl for $1 numbers and $2 letters. I know that is a horrible sentence but, eh, whatever.

It will be available in the trailer this weekend.

You're welcome to come play in XP with us! In our region, XP is fairly broad, and you never know what will show up. It essentially is a "run what you brung" class since the rules for XP are so extreme. We have the most fun!

I would like to see one of those red S2000s beat Ed, he is fast this year!

That is the most I can remember in a long time for a points event. We could easily break 100.

So 3 run groups. I've got $10 to edge SM in first run group and CSP in last group….

So I didn't make it to the event and here's why... A woman shot across all 6 lanes of the parkway in Huntsville and I tagged her first. Thankfully everyone was OK. Pretty certain the car is totaled, but waiting for a confirmation.
