Anyone making the trip? If you went to the Dixie tour and are not going to the Match tour I would like to know why.

I'm not going because I have too much going on in May plus I'm saving money for Blytheville in September.

Not going. First and foremost, I work that Saturday and I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to swap the day. Second, Match Tours are not fun to me. One day competition and then a couple of extra runs Sunday and maybe you get into the tournament - not really worth it. Also same course the entire weekend. Competition is usually much more stiff at Champ Tours than Match Tours. Not a fan of the format. I think the format will be gone in the next 1-2 years and replaced with something else.- Jordan, GS-15

Still on the fence about this one. The format is not my favorite. Feels like a one day event with fun runs the next day (and not that many)...Bill Clinton "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

Well, Darryl, you got a lot of good answers!
I, too, am not fond of the format and agree with Jordan that it won't last. It looks like the Atlanta people are boycotting it. I heard some grumbling about National not wanting to pay the rent for their better site.
That said, I just registered today and hope it makes numbers and actually happens. It is close and it is a National event. Plus, we lost our May event here in Huntsville due to the MFS surface thing.

65,000+ door-to-door, cone clipping and dirt-throwing individuals make us the largest amateur motorsports club in the United States.
Above link has the MATCH TOUR rules and "how it works" Chart.
I like the format, 4 runs on Saturday, then it gives you chance review video and data then 2 more runs to improve on Sunday? If you make the brackets AWESOME. If not your hope earlier and you could still have fun and walk away with something.

I understand the Match Tour rules, have been to a few, and did not have much fun. More power to the ones that like them, but I just haven't heard a whole lot of positive comments from anyone I've talked with. Most people feel like they aren't getting what they pay for, by and large. Most people want to see two different courses on a 2-day autocross (see Champ tours and ProSolo). Also, no one pays over $100 for an event to get to go home early.- Jordan, GS-15
