I see how he misread it though. The way it's worded " if you pay online (at AXWARE) you will pay $30" could easily be interpreted to say you get that price when you pay online, especially when it's followed by "If you pay at the site, day of event, you will pay $35". That reads like this: "PAYING online (not registering, since the word is pay) the cost is $30 for members. PAYING on site (again, nothing mentioned about registration) the cost is $35".

I would change the wording to something like this: "If you register online (at AXWARE), you will pay $30. If you register on site, day of event, you will pay $35."

Basically change the word pay to register, as that gets your intended point across more clearly.

I see what you are talking about. No one is actually looking at the supps, they are just reading the short/dirty version i put up in the thread. I will change it to read just like the supps.

Who reads supps? I thought those were just for the end of the year to argue about drops

We are in discussions with the Met. There is alot going on in the background. At this time, we are not announcing anything.

That would be great if we could get in done in May/June rather then 100+degrees August. Will keep an eye out for the decision

                    Notary Public

I'm confused about this membership stipulation that I have to go and get a notary public to sign my registration form. It says it's a "release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement and applies to all scca events". Is this in place of the waiver we usually have to sign at each event? Am I answering my own question? Haha...someone please help! I would really like to run this Sunday!

That is, I believe, an SCCA "hard card". Basically it's a hard plastic version of your membership card. With that you are allowed to skip signing the waiver at each event. I've had one for a couple of years and still sign the waivers out of habit.

You can still run Sunday with or without this card. If you're a member, sign the waiver and pay the entry fee. If you're not a member, fill out a weekend membership form, sign the waiver and pay the entry fee. With a hard card you skip signing the waiver and pay the entry fee.

Is that what you're talking about?

That sounds like you are looking at the application for the SCCA-level annual waiver, or "hard card" as you'll hear it referred to sometimes. That is a master waiver good for one year that covers you at all SCCA events. If you do that you get a new ID card signifying this status and no longer have to sign a SCCA waiver at individual events. That is the only thing I can think of that needs a notary. Most importantly, it is optional so you can just elect not to do it. Very few of the folks at our events have one.

Just show up sunday and do the waiver at the gate and you'll be fine.

edit: so W8 and I were typing at the same time...

I imagine if you had a "hard card" at our event the guys working waivers wouldn't know what it was or what to do with it.

<--- works early waivers a lot, never heard of a "hard card"

Ah, but you have heard of them...and even saw at least one. I had one for a couple of years but finally decided it was basically no benefit and required tracking down a notary each year.

                                Waiver

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. So I'll just show up Sunday and sign a waiver and pay and I'll be good to go?
