• 2014 Solo Season information

Here is the place where you will find information for the 2014 Solo Season (autocross, for the uninitiated).

All of our Points Events will be taking place at Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Pelham, AL. We appreciate all that the staff at Oak Mountain Amphitheater do for us, and we hope to keep them happy while we utilize the great facility they have for us.

The Solo Supplemental forms are being attached to this thread, and please make sure that you read through these forms, as this is the information that we will always revert back to whenever questions arise.

The calendar this year will look like this:

June 15 - Points 3
July 12 - Points 4 South Event (of NvsS)

For first time participants, $25 will still be the amount you pay. For SCCA Members, if you register online (at AXWARE) you will pay $30. We will still have the Family Discount, and this is explained in the Supplemental.

For the 2014 Season, we are offering another payment option as well. We will be offering a SOLO SEASON PASS, that will allow entry into ALL points events and OPEN Test n Tune Events for $250. This SOLO SEASON PASS will be available for purchase through the end of April 2014. Make sure you are logged in to Axware before you can access the Club Store in "my controls"

RAW TIME CHAMPIONSHIP (RTC) and EVENT RAW/PAX PAYOUTS (ERPP)
For 2014 we will continue to have the Raw Time Championship and Event RAW/PAX Payouts, in addition to our Class Championships/Event winners.

The explanations are in more detail on the Supplemental attachment. But for a brief overview:

The RTC will be an 10 event Championship, with NO drops; that will be the accumulation of points based upon the top 15 finishers in each ALSCCA Points Event RAW standings. The Points breakdown is listed in detail in the Supps. This Championship will be awarded at the end of the 2014 Season to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Raw Time podium finishers. The Championship will be a CASH payout championship. Only SCCA Members will be eligible to participate in the Championship. Membership status must be granted by Points Event 5.

1st Place - $500
2nd Place - $250
3rd Place - $100

The ERPP will be a Payout at EVERY Points Event that ALSCCA holds. Anyone, regardless of membership status, will be eligible for the Payment. The top 3 finishers in RAW standings and PAX standings will be awarded payment during the Trophy Presentation. You must be in Person to accept your payment, it will otherwise be forfeited.

1st Place - $25
2nd Place - $15
3rd Place - $10

We hope that you all are excited as we are about the 2014 Season. We hope these changes bring in more participants from outside regions, as well as Participants from our own local area. Please make sure that you spread the word about our events.

There are still negotiations with SEdiv to work out the SEdiv Championship date. Our SSSS is run exactly like the SEdiv championship will be run. It is very likely that we will combine the two events. But that is all still in the works.

John - Is it "if you pay online" or "if you register online" that you save $5?

John correct me if i'm wrong. As long as you register online you can pay at the event and save the $5.

correct. we are rewarding people who pre-register. it makes things easier on us, and helps get people in the habit (hopefully) of doing that.

NO. You mis-read that. You DO NOT have to pay online to see the $5 difference. When you come to register at the trailer, we have two options, Pre-register and On-site register. If you registered online, and are a member, then you pay $30 (non member $40). If you did not register online, then you pay $35 (non member $45). If you decide to pay online, at Axware, you will pay $30 as a member, and $40 as a non-member, for registering and paying.

You are not getting a discount for paying online vs paying on site, the discount comes from registering online. Basically, we were at minimum doubling, the amount of people that were showing up at events verse what we thought might be there based on Online registrations. This makes it very difficult to plan for events. Especially when 28 people register online and then 85 show up to run the day of the event. We are trying to stop this.

Looks like the best NvS dates are March 29/30 or May 31st/June 1st.
