It's a little early but who is going? I have high hopes of smacking down a five time CSP national champion. What says you?

So is a "Tour" a regular auto-x? Or is it one of those side by side deals? Or the one with the dial in? It's all very confusing.
I assume the "Dixie" is the one in Cecil, GA in March? If so I'll try to make it.- Jerry Ledford

A National tour is ran pretty much just like our events. The only difference is it's two days and you run the course backwards the second day then your two best time are added together.

Its fun tho!! and a very humble experience. You are a big fish in a small pond, at Tour or national events, you are the small fish in the big fish pond.Originally posted by jledford View PostSo is a "Tour" a regular auto-x? To elaborate:
I try and show up as early Friday as possible to get teched and maybe run the practice course and catch up with friends I have made over the years. There will most likely be an EVO school early Friday if you want to sign up for it. Registration check in is usually around 3:00 or so. You will get your work assignment at check in. Course is usually open to walk by 4:00ish. Welcome party, drink beer. (The welcome party may have been moved to Saturday night)
Saturday morning allows late tech and registration check in. Course is open to walk at pretty much sun up. Drivers meeting at 8:00, grid assignment, cars to grid, first car off around 9:00. Five run groups ~60 cars. There are two grids set up so if you run after the current group you can get you car to the other assigned grid. Your runs are no different than any other autocross run you have ever run but don't screw up because the likes of Andy Hollis and Tim Stranos are watching.
After you do your runs you go back to your grid spot for impound (open hood/trunk) to wait on results unless you are in a class that has to be weighed then you go to the scales then your grid spot. After the official times are released and every one in your class sees/agrees with them you can go back to paddock. Some time during the day you will work, you will know run work order usually the Wednesday before the event. Drink beer and go to the local Mexican restaurant.
Sunday starts early, no drivers meeting, walk the course and get to work/grid. The course will be pretty much the same as the day before but backwards.
Like our events it's very social, you meet people you have only known from the internetLast edited by engled; 12-13-2013, 12:34 PM.

Sounds like it's best to take Friday off of work, perhaps Monday too for recovery.
I'll try to make it. I'll run STU with Sam and like C said, we'll be small fish in a big pond dominated by boost buggies. It'll be fun to get last place!- Jerry Ledford

Another question, is the site concrete or asphalt?
I might have to get another set of RS3s on order if it's concrete, the Rivals didn't like the Dothan concrete as much as the RS3s.- Jerry Ledford
