  • PBOC autocross at Barber Nov 16-17

The autocross with PBOC will be on the 16th and 17th of November.

We need volunteers to help with cone shagging. If you would like to work or learn how to setup the timing equipment, then this is a good time to be around.

The schedule is a little difficult, because we are at the mercy of the Instructors from PBOC. Basically if you are going to work the event, you will need to be at the second tier of the paddock by 7:45am and work until around 5:00 or 5:30pm.

We will need a few Instructors to help out with the Novices from PBOC, basically if you have helped C and Sara with the Novices at our events, then you could Instruct a novice at this event.

We will be providing lunch for cone shaggers and Instructors, as well you can run the autocross course as much as you want. We will also be paying $25 a day.

I will be taking a list of names, so if you want to work the event, you must be on this list.

Cone Workers/ up to 5/ Sat only/Sun only/ Sat and Sun are all options
    1 Josh Bassett
    2 Nick Vagner
    3 Justin W
    4 Heath Patterson Sat only
    5 Chris D

Instructors/ up to 4/ The Novice Car Control Clinic will run from 9:15 to 10:15
    1 Nick Vagner
    2 Heath Patterson
    3 Sean Yoder
    4 Sara T

The autocross will open to NON PBOC drivers at 9:00am on both Saturday and Sunday. The autox will be both days. We will do $1 per run. Or $5 for 7 runs. Or $10 for 20. Or $20 for unlimited runs. We will also be taking donations to support Cancer Research at UAB, which is the PBOC charity for their event. All donations will need to be cash or check.

The schedule is fairly liquid, and maybe changed without notice. The PBOC drivers will have priority to the course as it is their event. However, those of you that attended last year can attest, the event is a boat load of fun. You will have the time to run as much as you want, make changes, then run again as much as you want. It really is a very good time.

I will be there as per usual. Cone duty and/or instruction (if they bring a car large enough for me to fit :P)

I had a lot of fun working last year. I got at least 20 runs in two days.

That's all? Then you weren't trying to take very many runs

We did have an issue last year with workers taking a break and the autocrossers driving with no workers/few workers on course.

I think to make things a little better on the workers, maybe every hour on the hour have a 10 minute break or something.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Or maybe even every 30 minutes.

I'll only be getting a one-hour break each day for lunch, but I (probably) won't be shagging cones. ;^)

The weirdest thing for me about these events is hearing engine noises/squealing tires when there's not supposed to be anything on the track.
