Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Those people exist to take the depreciation hit so folks like us can come along later, buy a car we couldn't afford when new, and use it as it should be used

check out picture #801 (of chucks pics) from Sunday's event. Looks like Mr. Kilgore was up on two.

Wow. That's Jerry but yes he's got the front right off the ground a good bit, can't tell about the rear.

I think that's you riding with me Heath. You need to "bulk" more to keep that side of the car on the ground

It usually only does that when I'm on the gas so I'd assume both rears were on the ground.

And for the record, #808, I didn't hit that cone

The second one came out, and I thought, "Hmm. I don't think I've ever seen two in the same place at once."

Then the third one came out. . .

It was nice to see you guys out there, actually driving these cars, instead of standing around looking at them in a parking lot.
Actually in our entire club nationwide I think I can count on one hand the show only cars....the majority of our guys modify and drive our SVO's. Ted in the black SVO drove his from Chicago...we did a 200 mile road trip on Friday, our show on Saturday and then the autocross Sunday and drove back home Monday....I'm going to try to get more of the local south eastern SVO guys to come out with you guys more often. We aren't competitive anymore in the class our cars fit in but we still love to get out and have fun with them.

Usually we find courses set up really tight that favor the Miata type cars but this course was great for us!

Sunday was my first event. I have the silver S2000 and was in the third group. Definitely a learning and humbling experience.

My S is supercharged with about 340 whp. I was running newish (cheap) tires and new coilovers I just installed Saturday with "out of the box" settings and no alignment. I am new to suspension setups too. I knew the car wasn't ready, but I did not want to miss another event. It was like driving on ice out there!!! I had 2 DNF's and lost it once. I sucked and it was a blast.

I want to thank Lee and Brandon for tolerating me on my work assignment at station 1. It was a lot to take in for a first timer and I missed a couple things. I've got 4 bad disks and a blown knee, so I am not the runner... Most of the downed cones were on the final stretch or at the finish. Lee ran is arse off - glad I had a young and fast guy to cover me. Sorry guys... I'll make sure I get a more appropriate assignment for my broken body next time.

Anyway, I've got better tires on the way. The event help settle the coilovers, so I'll get a better alignment when the new tires are installed and find some help with the coilover setup.

Thanks all for a great day.

Glad you came out man! Love the car btw. It was a nice surprise to open the hood and see a SC under there. I think tires and alignment would do you a lot of good. Also if you want to get really serious look into getting your car corner weighted. The club has a set of scales you can pay for rental at a disclosed location. Corner weighting a car properly is neglected too often.
