Okay people, here you go. Double check everything. As you can see, this is everyone, whether or not you are SCCA member. If you are not an SCCA member, then you may want to join so that you can get that money.

Seeing how 1st is actually a tie right now I was wondering - if there's a tie at the end of the year for a position, what's the tie breaker?

The person with the most highest placed finishes?

Or the person who attended the most events?

I'd say pool first and second place, and split 50/50 between the tied competitors.

I would assume you pool 1st and 2nd in that case, and have whoever's next in line get the 3rd place award.

That is an interesting option, though quite politically correct and very YMCA of you.

We will probably go with Highest number of top finishes or best average finish, both of which will more then likely yield the same result.

The problem you get into with the splitting of the purse with a tie is if you have 3 or 4 people tied for 3rd place (or 1st or 2nd)... Suddenly everyone is getting only $30.00. That takes away from the competition aspect of it all. We want it to be a fierce competition that people really want to win. To do that, you have to have a WINNER. To have a Winner, you must have a Loser.

That also makes sense. I didn't really think about if there were more than just 2 people tied for first. Certainly go with highest average finish or whatever to determine "on average" who finished higher.

And 2nd place is the first Loser!

You can always look at the finishes where the people who tied went head to head and take the one who won the most times between them at those events
