Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • "North" part of NvS registration is open

FYI, registration for the "North" side of our annual North vs South event is now open here. Note they use motorsportreg.com instead of axware, so you will need to create an account there if you haven't used it before.

Please plan to support your club for this unique and very fun event. Saturday Aug 10 will have us traveling to Huntsville and then Sunday Aug 11 we defend our home turf. The "away" team gets bonus points for how well they travel, so we need big numbers to make the trip this year. As an additional attraction this will be the last TAC/TVR event of the year at the great Milton Frank site and you really owe it to yourself to give it a shot. Typical courses there are longer and faster than we can do at Oak Mountain.

Both Saturday and Sunday are normal autocross events. The North vs South team aspect is calculated from entrants and overall results of both.

If you make the Huntsville trip, make sure you specify that you are there to support ALSCCA when you register, both online and at the event.

    I'll be there for both.

As another note the "north" doesn't give the tire multiplier when calculating PAX. I'll be running STU up there instead of Tire BSP to get a better PAX.

Okay someone needs to let me codrive with them. Don't feel like taking the hike up there in the 240, so if someone has an extra seat I will gladly support our cause.

Nick speaks wisdom. The best paxing region always wins. Stock class cars are what we need. We need stock cars driven by 2 drivers each to make the largest footprint in this competition. The competition will be decided by which region can earn the most points. This is not to say that any car and driver that goes will not benefit but just saaying...if we show up with a bunch of sp and p cars to the north end of the battle ....we will lose.

HS GS and ES cars will be the biggest bang for the buck.Everyting else is icing on the cake. I might make a point or 3 with my junk but in a stock car I would make 5-6 points as long as I run well.

If anyone has an open seat I would love the opportunity to join in the fun. I have the GP car apart and If all goes as planned, I am hoping to have it ready to race in Birmingham late this season. But for the North Vs South I would be happy to drive prepared or stock it does not matter.

ST cars have good PAX's as well, the best ones being STC and STF. I will be working for the TVR event (UGH) but I should be there for the ALSCCA event.

Looks like we got them thinking a bit harder about it this year guys (last year I think we lost just on attendance, ugh):

Lets make sure we don't lose due to lack of attendance in Huntsville. Remember, like Rod mentioned, every person who travels to Huntsville gets us points! So even if you think you won't get any PAX or RAW points please travel up. It will be fun (Milton Frank is great, I've already been once this year) and you'll be helping the ALSCCA get as many points as possible!

I have been a strong proponent of this event since it's inception. I still think it should be more heavily weighted on travelers. The whole idea of the event is is to get our members to go to our sister/brother regions events. We haven't beat TVR in several years, they bring a bunch of drivers and they bring fast drivers. The time we did win we swamped them with travelers, lots of them and several that were fast.

Don't think you you don't matter in the event, show up, have fun and support your local region.

I noticed in the 2012 points there is a column for "Novice". Is that just for how many Novices show up from each club or how they finish?
