Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Yesterday was pretty fun once the course was figured out. The site is very interesting with the elevation changes and the grip is pretty good. I hope there are more events at the stadium.

The barbecue was really good. I liked the sauce he had. I appreciate the efforts of John and Mark to make the event successful.

The shootout was fun once again. Watching Geoff and Dennis in the final was pretty exciting. Congratulations to Geoff!

Were the results for the shootout kept and can they be posted?

I had a blast as well! The transitions on course made for some interesting moments.

The shootout itself was interesting, my first time in an event like that. I can't believe I coned away my run in the 2nd tier of the shootout on the last turn! Oh well, glad to have made it into the shootout and much fun was had.

I asked Mark about this before I left yesterday and he said that both the "regular" auto-x before the shootout and the shootout results will be posted.

Yesterday's event really showed me just how much fun autocross can be. I really really enjoyed the course, as it was nice to have to actually use my brakes once or twice. The elevation was SO much fun to me, and the different areas of grip made for even more of a mental workout.

I expected crap for weather, but we ended up having a pretty freakin' beautiful day.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible, and to everyone else that came out to have a good time! I look forward to future events at this site.

Obviously there are some kinks to work out if we continue to have events at the site, and some kinks in the ruleset of the Shootout that showed themselves pretty obviously.

It was a great day overall, and the fact the rain actually held off until almost 6:00pm when we finished was just a blessing. I can not say enough for the people that are members of the SCCA. The fact we had people from regions all over the Southeast at our event, and they stayed until 6:00pm to make sure we had workers at stations just blows me away. I can not say enough about the people that make things happen.

We will definitely be talking to Dion about becoming a more prominent fixture in our events.

Thanks again to all the early workers, Clay McCool for making a course that emphasized 'look ahead', and all the people who stayed and worked the corners for the Shootout.

You were really flying in the M3 yesterday Jerry...great job!

Ben chose the shootout to put together his three best runs of the day. If it wasn't for a late cone in the "round of 5" he would have been in the championship duel with Geoff. Or, given how Geoff was running, he would have won the honor to be Geoff's victim in the championship round Still...not too bad for the youngest driver there.

Team Hardiman got all three cars in Shootout and I hate that Zac had to leave early to get to work. I cut my own throat by throwing down a flyer which set my benchmark a bit lower than I would have liked. Still, I'll take a 3rd pax result in my first event driving Ben's car.

Congrats to Kilgores, Clay, and everyone else involved in setup. It was a great event and it was really fun seeing so many new faces, both those who traveled and the numerous new "locals" we had.

Those Hardiman boys (all 3) have really stepped up their game over the past few years!

It reminds me when my son James would co-drive events with me (and quite well), and then my daughters Kelly and Kristen terrorized the novice classes with class wins over lots of depressed guys! It is a great family sport and I encourage parents with teenagers to enroll their kids in the New Driver Car Control clinic and get their kids out to participate in the actual autocross events (all 3 of my kids did). It teaches better car control for life and may help to avoid an accident that someone less experienced in driving may NOT avoid.

And I will be glad to assist anyone with a ride or a few pointers or even drive your car with you riding to experience some of the cars limits or even offer a few suggestions to improve the cars handling and balance! Just come over and ask the old guy...

And kudos to the Kilgores and the entire volunteer staff at the event for the best local event in quite awhile.

On a less than positive note, there were 3 or 4 cars there (maybe 4 cylinders....) that were extremely loud. Since we are near people's homes and the RV park, I highly encourage these people to decrease their exhaust noise before the next event. If people complain of noise to the local police or city hall, the use of the parking lots may be curtailed. So I encourage everyone to be proactive with sound control (usually an extra pre-silencer before the "muffler" will be enough) so we can keep our wonderful autocross sites!

I melted the center caps off of my wheels, no really I did. I went back the paddock after the second group and the front caps were on the ground...

It was a fun event, and I'm looking forward to next Saturday.

Where is Dion's restaurant and what is the name.

Awesome event everyone! I wanna say congratulations to Jerry and Ben for really stepping up their driving this year! The "most improved driver of the year" award is gonna be a battle!! Also congrats to Geoff and Dennis for an exciting final round, and congrats to Geoff for the win.
I wanna say thanks to the Kilgores and everyone at the event for letting me take my morning runs and being so understanding. Work was absolutely nuts yesterday morning, and I was just hoping to make it in time for my afternoon runs. It made me really happy to be able to get all my runs in yesterday. I'm hoping that, when I switch to my new job, I can return to being able to be part of the setup crew and getting to actually walk a course again!
Great event overall, and awesome weather. Thanks to the Kilgores for arranging the beautiful day for us! And a big thanks to all the workers who were willing to stay for the shootout, y'all are awesome.

Link to YouTube video of one of my runs.

I hit the rev limiter on three sections but never felt shifting was going to benefit me. However, Bo did and ran a faster time I think.

Mr. Clay worked some magic putting together a great course, rain or no rain.

A lot of great drivers and greater people. I enjoy each event.
