1/25/09 wiregrass

anyone going, unfortunately I have to work, to far to drive and then work that evening

The event will be held at Sunny South Raceway just outside Mobile AL, click Here for directions to the track.

Pre-registration is appreciated and it can be done HERE

The cost will be $25 for SCCA members, and $40 for Non-Members

Date: 1-25-09

Registration and tech open 7 am close 9 am
Course walk: 9 am till 9:30
Drivers meeting 9:30
Cars in grid 10 am.

There will be a 30 minute lunch break

There have been revisions to the points championships and the region has consolidated the points into four(4) main categories. Open Tire, Street Tire, Novice, and Ladies. Info for these specific classes can be found here

Looking at that track map, it reminds me of how spoiled we are around here with such a huge canvas to work with.

When and where would be an appropriate time to ask some questions about how to read the track map? I think I get most of it, but I don't know how to read the intersection in the middle & what happens after that 360(?) once you come back to the intersection - across to the other side again (which I'm guessing is the way because there are 2 lines around that rt side big loop), or left and to the finish? Or...??

Looks like this is the morning after the banquet - folks from our region wanting to do this would probably go down...banquet night? From Bham it's what, 5 hrs to Mobile so it's either that or a really early departure (2am?) Sunday AM? Maybe yall who've done this run to Wiregrass can tell us.

Looking at the course Kathy.You see start at the top middle.Direction of course is CCW.you go through the course and up around that long sweeper then through that intersection to a 180 turn around (which appears to be optional L or R then back through the intersection back up around that big sweeper again then back through the intersection ( this time across your last 2 paths and then to finish.

Cool course ,looks fairly quick ,but I bet the workers in that sweeper and that turn around in the middle had better be Johnny on the stick with the red flags LOL...Im sure they will .

Wiregrass ,I have heard from many,puts on a nice autox .I have presonally not had the opportunity to make it to one of them .

I just want to let everybody know this is not the wiregrass region. This is gulf coast region. They are on opposite sides of the state from each other.

Wiregrasses lot isn't really small. I wouldn't have thought they would have to do that to get a good course

Evan they do crossovers all the time(wiregrass). Almost got packed at their last event. And compared to the BRC it is like a "POSSUM cage". Ask Yoder about eating possum.

At any rate looks like a cool course .Very cool of dpeele to post up ...would suck to show up on a wiregrass site and be alone .Im still in off season .See you all at the banquet ....BTW Ervin...you had better not miss the banquet you freak.Why cant you make it ?You gotta work or something ?

Personally I would just mow down that middle cone in the intersection. all 4 times.
