  • TAC/TVR 1 Course Map

TAC/TVR 1 is this Saturday, April 6th. We hope to see some of you up here in Huntsville.

Please note: MFS has a limit of 96 dB. We had to ask 5 cars to stop running last event. Typically, a straight thru muffler will not get the job done, at least not at full throttle/redline. This is the only way we can keep this site as it is in a residential area. Yesterday at Verizon there were 2 or 3 cars that definitely will not pass this sound limit.

In run group 1 (I was starter), let me see: there was a slammed Civic hatchback that was very loud.

When the results come out, I will look and see if I can identify any others that I think will have trouble. Just remember that people's subjective sense of sound doesn't necessarily (hardly ever?) agree with the meter, though the A-weighted response was originally intended to do so.

Brett Hudson (BMW), Geoff Walker (CR S2000), and the civic you mentioned all exceeded 96 db.
Please understand, this is a requirement for use of MFS and is part of our agreement with the school.

My internal meter said the gray civic, both accords, and the red Saturn all exceeded the noise limits.

C's evo and the Mcfall Corvette should be legal, but are approaching the limit.

The accords know they're over the limit, and I'm pretty sure RJ (the gray civic) knows as well. The red saturn I don't know about.

I know C wasn't close to the noise limit until he was on the brakes, and McFalls vette should be omitted from sound ordinances because of the beauty of it.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

I'm a little surprised no one thinks my car is over the limit...I must fix that; less exhaust = less weight!

Your car might be over the limit, but you'd have to:get on the gas for us to know.

Between 5 and 8 depending on the number of competitors. We average about 7 runs per event.

7 runs would justify the 3 hour drive. Huntsville is Central time zone?
